He’s got it in him but man he’s thinking too much or something. He’s definitely struggling.

He's hitting over .300. If you "struggle" on this team there is a swarm of kids waiting to step in. It's crazy because on a normal team you are taking your lumps with Jones through the slumps (and JJ still may with Jones) but on this team you could find yourself on the bench watching the rest of the season play out.

Absolutely JJ will not do that. Not a chance unless you're a pitcher.

A hitter like him is prone to slumps due to the amount of swing and miss he has. He has good plate discipline but he’s gonna be a streaky hitter.

He’s like a Kyle Schwarber. His slumps are ugly but when he’s on he’s unbelievable.

Beloso is going to prove to be one of the best 9 however that needs to happen. Could be at 1st base or DH. Could be with or without Jones also in the lineup. He's looked great in every at bat.

I don't think so either, nor do I think that is what should happen.

I'm surprised at the fixture of a rotation JJ has had with the depth of this team though. Maybe I'm just used to Mainieri's "tinkering" but outside of injuries you haven't seen much movement.

Jones has been a fixture.
Neal has been a fixture.
Nippolt (up until today has been a fixture).

The only real natural movement we have seen so far has been Pearson, Jobert, Kling. I don't have a problem with it at all, just surprised by it.

Great for Cade, & more power to him if he can build off of this.

But look. 86mph right down the cock. Let’s be serious here, he & everyone else should mash this pitch if presented.

Nobody here is arguing that he is crushing top notch pitching. Bottom line is that he has done every single thing you can ask with his opportunities. You really can't do anything more than he has. The question can be asked if he is earning himself some more opportunities.

I never saw a freshman complained about so much for batting in the .300s early on in his career. Y’all are sad.

Let’s be honest. He most likely will not be a .300 hitter when SEC play starts. More in the .250 range

No shite huh? Here's something that will blow your mind. Crews will also not bat .690 against SEC pitching either. It doesn't mean he sucks.

Nobody is talking about Crews though. Jones will not be a .300 hitter. People are probably complaining because it’s starting to become evident that he’s not what everybody initially made him out to be.

I don’t think Jobert needs to be in the top 6 in the line up. He either homers or looks really bad.

Agree. I haven’t seen much improvement from him at the plate from last year. He is also a liability in the field.

That’s a lot of downvotes for what seems to be a very reasonable post.

He's striking out against the worst pitching LSU will see all year. And has done so since opening day. Sure, he was batting over .300 coming into Sunday, but he also had 15 Ks in 32 ABs as well. He's the definition of feast or famine. And there shouldn't be this much famine against sub-par pitching like he is facing. He leads the team in strikeouts by a wide margin.
