What’s the record for WR?
Chase would have had the top bench press reps last year. With those numbers and his sophomore year tape, he will easily be the first WR off the board.

LSU Pro Days are notorious for being faster than many others. Some of that is because we simply have faster athletes, but there is some truth to our "improved" Pro Day times. Many guys have run at the combine, then run at LSU a week or two later, only to see drastically faster times. There are many variables involved in that. I don't think we do anything shady, I think it has more to do with "home field advantage". I know that much of it has to do with conditions/surface. Any track athlete/coach will tell you that matters, as in mattering on the 100th to 1/10th of a second level. Indy (Combine) for sure is a slower turf than LSU indoors. I DO believe that Chase and Marshall both would have run sub 4.5 laser times at Indy had they had the Combine this year.
I would bet you see faster times at home field pro days than at Indy Combine across the board, not just at LSU. However, you can still evaluate based on the pool of athletes running and how they stack up against each other. Also, it's NFL scouts doing the times, not some sneaky LSU staffer shaving milliseconds.

That right there is why chase is the best WR in school history and it isn't close
Josh Reed's numbers are better plus he didn't quit on his team. Chase is number 2
in
23 games Josh Reed has 2,867 yards receiving and 63 rushing yards and 18 TD's
24 games Chase had 2,093 receiving yards and 23 TD's
Reed has almost 1000 yards more then Chase in less games.

It's pretty striking. I don't put stock into pro day 40 times.
You can't fake reps though. What separates Ja'marr from others is that upper body strength and control.

Anyone who pays attention to the combine knows these pro day times have been complete bullshite. No idea why people are taking any of these 40 times seriously. All of a sudden every skill player entering draft runs 4.3?

Nice #’s...
But is this your alter account Ree?

Yep, they are bullshite. I went through them last night and its obvious.

Quitting the team a year ahead of schedule paid off.

I don't think Chase should even get to perform at last year's team's pro day.

I'm pretty sure your butthurt about him opting out is showing.
All due respect to Josh Reed, but he was the only legit WR on the team at that point. He was the only guy Rohan would throw the ball to.
Chase had Justin Jefferson playing on the other side.
Jefferson just put up 1400 yards in the NFL. Reed never cracked 800.
If you'd take prime Reed over prime Chase you'd be stupid.

Congrats on your moral victory ?
No one cares about the nfl.
Reed destroyed chase’s numbers in college. Reed has every advantage in college over chase. Winning the NC was a team victory not a player victory.

Why wouldn’t Shelvin Bench Press?
Posted on 4/1/21 at 9:52 am to MLCLyons
Yeah, 27 is the top number I could find for the Combine.
Metcalf, also Brooks Foster, Greg Little, and N'Keal Harry. But the two most impressive nunbers to me might be what Eddie Royal and Chad Owens did.
Royal did 24 reps at a weight of 184.
Owens did 23 reps at 183.

And congrats on completely missing the point. Again, y’all can be butt hurt chase opted out but he’s the best WR lsu has seen which includes Jefferson.
Chase would have embarrassed reed with Joe burrow and no Jefferson to take 111 catches from him.
How many catches did the next receiver have vs reed in his years at lsu. 40?

quote:no offense, but this is ignorant. Chase didn't play what would have obviously been his two best years like Reed did.

First two years (Reed only played 19 games)
Reed first 19 games 73 receptions 1261 yards 10 TDs
Chase first 19 games 80 receptions 1429 yards 15 TDs
Winner - Chase
All 24 games Chase played and the first 24 games Reed played
Reed 115 receptions 2074 yards 13 TDs
Chase 107 receptions 2093 yards 23 TDs
Winner - Chase.
Hell, Marshall had nearly 800 yards and 10 TDs in 7 games last year. Chase's numbers in 2019 and 2020, had he played, would have crushed Reed's numbers in 2000 and 2001.

Would have could have should have. You can make up things that didn’t happen. What did happen is reed had almost 1000 more yards then Chase in less games with a worse QB. Reed wins. Plus he didn’t quit on his team. Reed did everything better in college. The only thing chase has that reed doesn't is a NC. So congrats on chase having a better LSU team then 2000’s Reed team.

Never would have said Chase was taller than Marshall.
