Yeah, hoping he can be what we know he can be. One other thing, I have been paying close attention to the raiders and they wanted to blame everything on JaMarcus for their troubles, but he was not their troubles. They just have a bad team.

I've heard that he wore the necklace in support of his buddy Bama Boy the rapper from his hometown of Mobile.

I can somewhat understand if that is the case.

Apparently so because the piece mentioned that he was hesitant to go to Houston becasue that is where it originated and he didn;t want the rumors that he was addicted to continue to circulate.

If any of you saw the piece on Inside the NFL you would be hard pressed to think he has a shot to turn things around. While it showed him constantly working out, he still looks like a lard arse. Couple that with the fact that he still won't take any responsibility for what happened in Oakland and he has no shot in my opinion. Dude won't even play in the UFL if given the opportunity.

Anyone else question his intelligence? A southern accent/drawl is one thing, poor grasp of the English language is another. That statement is hard to read.

I don't wish for anyone to fail but I'm just pointing out that there may be more than just being out of shape and codeine that made his career fail.

Me too. I feel so sorry for this guy. It's one thing to be born with unbelievable physical gifts. But then on top of that to be given ludicrous amounts of money. That's just too much to expect someone to handle.

Saban did recruit him and he is from AL.

Right - f him. He was an embarassment to LSU. Nothing short of another punk that went to drugs. Got the cash and went back to ghetto lifestyle.

Totally opposite of Flynn who is still in the NFL and represents LSU well.

We have not seen the last of JR. I think he will make a comeback and do well in the NFL.

I still do not get it...

Whether JR did great things for LSU or not should have no effect whether he is right or wrong. The guy did the wrong thing. Period. So did RP. If you want one to pull it back together and succeed, then morally you should want the other as well. However, posters on this board want JR to get his life turned around and go to the hall of fame while they could give a shite if they ever hear the name Perilloux again. The logic behind that is incorrect.

You are completely missing the point. JR's problems never hurt the LSU football program directly.

RP on the other hand, was the reason we were so shallow at QB in '08. That directly caused losses.

That is the difference. I'm not claiming it makes JR better than RP. But if you can't see that, I don't know what to tell you.

The chain was for a rapper, Bama Boy, who is from Mobile that Russell invested in after signing his contract.

It's amazing the amount of people on here who spout off without having the slightest clue as to what they are talking about.

Yes, recreational use of codine is much more serious than being involved in a federal investigation for money laundering and pulling guns on people.
