Because he was lazy Saban made no secrets about it the year Katrina hit he moved in with his gfs uncle who happened to be fats domino. He taught him how to manage his time and to work to achieve great things and you saw the result. I thought this was well known

I'd like to see him make an NFL team as a backup. But it's not gonna happen
He should try another league first to get some playing time and then try out for a team

The thing that bothers me about this video is JaMarcus is saying he wants to give it another shot in the NFL, but he admits himself he isn't in football shape. If you want to be on a practice squad, at least do the work to get yourself in shape and prove to NFL execs that you are willing to commit to being a professional athlete.

Its as if he wants to redeem himself, but he isn't willing to lay himself out there and put in the training to get a tryout. There are plenty of guys who are working their tails off every day for a shot, and it is pretty clear that JaMarcus isn't one of them.

I don't dislike the guy, in fact I have great memories from his time at LSU, and I would love to see him make a comeback. However, from my admittedly limited point of view he hasn't done much to deserve another chance.

He had his chance and didn't put in the effort and time early that would have made the difference. Now that he's 30, overweight and out of shape...no teams going to believe he'll put in the effort now.

What's worse is that the same people sitting by his side today are the ones who used and aided his destruction, yet he will never realize it. He will be lucky to ever step foot on a sideline, unless he pays for it.

A few years ago I'd say he would be 100% better than most backups in the league. His size, arm, and overall ability isn't in question. It was his work ethic and attitude that killed him. And being on the worst team with no chance of succeeding.

But now it's just been too long and there is no chance he is near playing shape or ability because he hasn't played in an actual game in so long. He should have proved himself and played in other leagues to have film but he chose a different path and it didn't work out.

Still the best QB I've ever seen in an LSU uniform.

So you're saying a freshman hadn't gotten his shite together yet and you still hate him for not starting as a freshman 10 years later? You may need to reevaluate your priorities in life. Btw it doesn't make you edgy to be an a-hole

Would love to see it happen but I just don't see him playing at NFL decision making speed. He could used his size in college and never developed that ability to cycle quickly through his progressions. After his bust he would almost have to pay someone to let him play. Cool story though if he did.

I agree with all this. He has all the physical tools along with the accuracy IMO, but that's not enough to be a good NFL QB. He always just looked a little lackadaisical out there to me. You have to be processing info fast, making decisions preemtively, and getting rid of the ball before the receiver is actually open. I never got any indication that JaMarcus had the it factor to succeed in the NFL but surely it wouldn't hurt a team to bring him to camp to compete for a backup spot and try and earn his way back in.

It's just odd Flynn is regarded as a "winner" simply because that team caught the necessary breaks to play for the NC.

Eh, also helps that he made the most of his talent instead of squandering it like Jamarcus. Who would have thought his NFL career would have lasted longer?

our firewalled blocked that site. However, I really would like to see him play again. If somehow he could get with the right coach --forget team, but if he got with the right QB coach or OC, who knows?

Good luck,JaMarcus.
