People in Oakland said he isn't doing what it takes to be an elite player. Also, you can never watch enough film.

Go read the article you idiot. I'm not reading it again. It was either his coach or owner. Either way, they called him out.

Did anyone see the NFL draft this year?

Some of the people on this board could have done a better job of drafting.
That team is a joke. Its everyones fault but the owner and the staff.

Again LSU fans believe JR can do no wrong...
is he on a shitty team? Yes
Does he spend countless hours getting better? no
Is it all Al Davis fault? no

JR has his coach calling him out saying IF JR committed to the game itself like Manning/Ryan/Brees do he could be great but its IF he commits to that.

On the other hand JR has medicore offensive line, and no name receivers. He does have a good TE and a nice stable of RB.

Its JR's jop to make those receivers better than what they are. Much like Brady did turning a few relative no names into people we have heard about, much like Brees has done in New Orleans, and prime example is McNabb in Philly.

A QB makes those around him better, JR is 23 years old but this is his third season. In NFL its his make or break season. JR hurt himself with his hold out his rookie year.

What JR did in college has no merit on NFL status or else Couch would be one of top QB's and Brady would be a scrub. So anyone who uses his college stats to back up any argument is only fooling themselves.

Are you kidding? Did you watch him while at LSU? Running with the ball with 10 seconds left instead of throwing the ball away to stop the clock? Instead he gets his slow arse tackled and the clock ran out. Game lost.

I've seen more than one dumb game management decision made by him.

By the time Brees made it into N.O, it was his 27yrs old and 6th season.

Brees started 1 game his 1st season.
Brees 2nd season, 16GS 17td16/int
Breees 3rd, 11GS 11td/15int

JR's 2nd season, 15GS 13td/8int with a higher QB rating than Brees 2nd/3rd seasons.

Rivers had 4yrs of college and didnt start til his 3rd season.

JR was trying to make something happen and got tackled from behind. Apparently you dont watch football outside of LSU games. Watch it enough and you will see plenty of NFL QB's making bad decisions, Peyton Manning included.

Let a 20-21yr old black QB from LSU make a bad decision and he will be considered dumb.

JR had 4 years of college experience and 3 of playing experience.
JR did not start till his second season in the NFL also.

The NFL gives a QB 3 years to prove himself now, if he cant do that he is gone. That is why Garcia was brought in to see if he can light a fire under JR. If it doesn't work and does not commit to doing the film, extra hours, etc like Brees, like Rivers, like Manning then no he wont be elite.

You want to show me their stats that is fine, but those players were never considered lazy or unwilling to put in the extra work like JR has. And you read about it and I know LSU fans will defend him till blue in face and say media is biased or whatever. But JR needs to step up, people need to quit making excuses for him, I mean David Carr should have a gripe with the Texas team he was on. Even Joey Harrington on the Lions team that he was drafted too.

Of course, people of TD wont blame those teams as it was the players themselves but if they are talking about a former Tiger its the team and not the player.

Why dont you wait until he starts his 17th game or 3rd season is even started before you continue to constantly trash him.

shite never fails whenever someone makes a thread about JR that you chime in and nonstop attack him.

JR improved plenty towards the end of the season.

obviously you dont read much do you?

Show me 1 thread were I trashed JR... Please I will sit back and wait...

So me where I trashed him here? I stated what he needs to do, he is in the NFL not college. Everyone in NFL is good not just a few per teams, he went from playing heads and shoulders above everyone to not a level playing field.

JR is not known to be a film room junkie that much is a proven fact. Its one thing coaches have discussed and been reported since he entered league. He is in third year in league which is his make or break year. They brought in Garcia who will take over the starting role unless JR does improve his numbers from last year.

You have nothing you can argue so your going to say I constantly trash him? You apparently have me confused with someone else. Apparently either you can't read or your not very bright.

black QB from LSU

It's always about race isn't it. You just don't get it. He wasn't the brightest QB at LSU to begin with.

I always liked him and felt comfortable as LSU's QB, but I always knew he most likely wouldn't pan out in the NFL. And as far as watching football, I've probably been watching football longer than you've been alive. Black and White TV with no remote sucks.

I'm still waiting on your retarded arse to tell me what you're laughing at. But while I have your attention, let me tell you what I know. I know that old arse Rich fricking Gannon went to 4 Pro Bowls(winning MVP of the game twice), was named to 3 All-Pro teams, and was voted NFL MVP. And he threw for 4,6000+ yards that season. All this within the last 10 years. All playing for the Oakland Raiders. Who were still owned by Al Davis. Obviously they've gone to shite lately, but to act like it's impossible for a QB to have success there is absurd. JR should not use it as a built-in excuse. He is in control of his own legacy

Great! You googled Gannon's stats.

To sit here and act like playing for a shitty team and francise doesn't matter is laughable. Why don't you go have a talk to Archie Manning? Again :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

You know what? You're so right. We should baby him and tell him, "It's okay that you don't work hard. You're on a bad team, and you're young. So it's okay."

Are you on the team,or staff of Oakland? How do you know he isn't working hard?

the journalist is just trying to make a story out of nothing....

He even begins with..."it's hard to understand the handling of JR?

Crappy OL, didn't draft an OL, instead another WR that JR won't have to find, Davis changing coaches every 6 months...yeah, that shows a real commitment from the owner

Maybe he is just not good enough. Like Alex Smith. Or Ryan Leaf. Just because you have a strong arm does not mean you can be great. The race thing and the "Raiders Suck" thing is getting old.

What is disturbing is all the negative focus on his work ethic. If he is giving it 100% and is not good enough that's one thing, but if he's not giving it his all, he only has himself to blame.

There are many people in this world who would quit their jobs tomorrow if they won the Powerball. They would buy big cars, and maybe not prioritize some of the things they are being "told" they have to do. Russell is human, like the rest of us. Hopefully, he will have success.
