He need playaction to make good plays. Been that way for a while. No run = no JR.

Which is kind of shocking because he was incredibly accurate in college.

I think the talented group of wide-receivers had a lot to do with it, though. Not to mention, we had a excellent offensive line who gave him all day to throw the ball. It's still early in the season. Who knows, he might progress as the season goes on.

Good FG drive there.. Terrible play call on 3rd/8 to setup the FG though. Play Action isn't fooling anyone on 3rd/8

I agree thunderbird! They had a better chance going 4 or 5 wide with a quarterback draw than fooling the Charger's defense, lol.

Folks, those are 2 rookie WRs playing in their first NFL game, both are struggling to get enough separation.

Oakland's defense is putting a hurting on the Chargers. The defense is definitely giving them chance.

I'm glad Zach Miller is on the Raiders because otherwise Russell would have literally no one to throw to this year.

Clearly play action is going to fool DEs/LBs on 3rd/8

I know, right. Play action wouldn't fool a highschool team on 3rd and 8, lol.

Defensive meltdown on that drive. Bound to happen. Now it's all on Russell to lead them to a W. We'll see what happens.

Play #1 - Russell throws it behind a 5 yard curl
Play #2 - Bush runs it for 9.5 yards
Play #3 - Russell Sneak for first down and he's hurt...

True, run clock. Score with little time on the clock.
