yea, roller coaster for sure. always loved him coming off the bench draining those 3s a few years ago.

is the point of RS'ing to keep him on scholarship?

I guess, which is weird because he's going to transfer after he graduates. I assume it's just Wade not being a dick.

i think so too. i guess that means we'll be down a player on the roster now too.

are we making room for another new player?

There are so many moving pieces right now. I have no idea what's happening with the roster.

this is confusing to me.......anyone have real ensight? Does him redshirting allow Wade to bring in another player immediately?

Now that I think about it, the reason he is redshirting is so he can play the following year.
Duh.

Johnny Jones destroyed this young man's career. He was such a promising player as a freshman

I think it is a combination of things, but the "redshirting" tells all. He doe snot fit the vision of WW his decision.
But major props to both the player and coach. The player for not simply leaving school which so many guys do, focused on getting his degree and then transferring. He could simply leave LSU right now transfer to a new school sit out a year (redshirt there) have a year to play, dont know exactly if he could then play another if he graduated with having a redshirt.
Props to WW, for keeping him on scholarship and emphasizing education, his training is crazy strenous. We will have one of the most conditioned teams in America. I understand it from WW perspective we have multiple new guys coming in, Jayln would play but take minutes that will really help younger guys that could be the difference in 2-3 years from now when we are on the bubble or better.
It was the best decision for all, but shows both really care about education which is rewarding.

meh, he was basically an undersized guard who only took set shots and wasnt even that good at it

Although it may be the case athletes don't have to be on scholarship to redshirt.

Johnny Jones did not "destroy" his career. Take that somewhere else, he was a 5-11 combo guard. Albeit he played at a powerhouse program and with Simmons, his offer sheet was not terrible but not great either. He was always nice to me around and off campus, and actually cared about school. Not every player is a superstar, not every player is all-SEC. Was CJJ the best at developing talent, obviously not
. His strengths lied in recruiting, but to say he ruined his career, he got to get a degree with pretty high grades at that, and played in of our schools most exciting years, again very underwhelming and disappointing years.

What the frick? The last 3 years have been our school's most exciting years? frick the fact that we made the tournament every year for ten years or have been to 4 final fours or had the most prolific scorer in college basketball history...
