Heard on the radio from Ponamsky this AM that when he does locker room interviews and asks who the best athlete on the team is, its pretty unanimously Jalen Collins.

I was pretty blown away to hear that with how bad he was last year. But it could say a lot that he's stuck around and battled Robinson for that spot.

Would it be a safe assumption, to say that Jalen Collins & Jamal Adams are our Nickel,& Dime Backs ?

He's 6'2, close to 200 pounds, and is extremely athletic.

You should rewatch the Texas A&M game in 2012, he was a big part of the defense shutting down Manziel and the passing game. Plus his game against Miss St the same year.

So yeah, he has shown "flashes" of being dominant. Most of that was from his freshman year. Now he's got a full two seasons of playing time, and three seasons learning the system.

RR looked like our best corner towards the end of the year, including White. Not only that, he looked absolutely cut in the offseason.

I would be shocked if he is getting outplayed by Collins. This reeks of something going on behind the scenes. Hopefully it is just grades.

Collins is plenty fast enough. he's just allergic to contact. and he wasn't good in coverage last yr.

Yeah that's what I notcied, especially against TCU. Collins was having trouble with his hands. I didn't pay too much attention to him, but I feel like that's whY kept him away. He just wasn't physical enough. But our DB's are HUGE. Do we have a single DB under 6 foot?

I was talking mainly in the run game. dude doesn't wanna tackle, or even take on blockers and turn stuff back inside. I started noticing against either UAB or Kent (maybe both), but really saw it a few times vs Auburn. Tre on the other hand likes to stick his nose in there, much like J Mills. and RR at least seems willing. I think it was more lack of run game physicality that lost Collins his job.

Tre, Rickey Jeff. prob Jamal Adams is prob a tad under 6'.

Collins is definitely football fast, his shuttle times are sick. He's our taller version of Ron Brooks athletically speaking imo. I think it just a matter of him clicking between the ears. That's one of those factors that just can't be predicted though.

This. I'm glad someone else has noticed it too. He's not physical enough to play corner in the SEC.

Not sure what this has to do with anything.

Dominant is something you either are or you are not. Perhaps he has shown the potential to be very good, but he also was quickly replaced by true freshmen last year when he was caught with his pants down.

Sure, he has all the measurables, but I want to see him play with more consistency.
