Every big time coach had to start somewhere. Here is to hoping he is the next great one.

Is that the last hire? That's every spot (except officially naming an OC), correct?

Not officially. Officially comes from LSU.

Title of the article.

Raymond, Peoples, and Olsen have not been named officially. They will be, but only Bo Davis and Baker have been made official.

And we need somebody to coach special teams… We can only have 10 assistants.

Was hoping for an experienced safeties coach so he could coach Raymond’s corners.

Didn’t last year we go without a dedicated ST coach?…. Might be the plan again

I’m pretty sure after Polian it was special teams by committee

I remember it being a debate in college coaching circles whether to “waste” an on-field assistant on a dedicated ST coach

Here’s an article last year Kelly explaining our “decentralized” special teams …. LINK

John Jancek started the 2023 season as Special Teams coach, but had to move to Defensive Line coach after Jimmy Lindsey started having health issues. As a result, Bob Diaco took over special teams. It is not clear what route Kelly with take with this position.

Maybe he will help with ST too.

You still need an on field special teams coach during games… Somebody on the current staff will have to handle that
