Agreed regarding small sample size but sounds on point from what I’ve read about Smith. Man I’m getting excited now

Solid reporting, thanks for the info. I feel like it’s going to be a great hire. If our staff can stay healthy, mmmmmmm I don’t even want to think

Any news on Storz?

Yes, Mainieri mentioned him when he talked about Hill in the scrimmage this past weekend. He said Hill would be throwing yesterday (but guess he meant today), and then said if all went well he would pitch an inning in the P&G WS, which is what is happening.

He mentioned Storz in that same interview and said that he had been throwing and was progressing well. Seemed very positive on both pitchers.

With Storz supposedly having electric stuff but battling injury issues could anybody see him a. possible candidate for closer. That way he doesn’t extend his innings too much but his talent is used in an important role. I know it is more likely that he is used in a spot role with this only being his first possible year of playing time but just a thought.

Storz is the most physically imposing player on the team. His body language and behavior with his teammates shows he is ready to play. He is definitely a question mark but I wouldn't be shocked if he turned out to be our best pitcher.

No, Fontenot is the closer. Storz has a good ways to go before we can even count on him.

Next question....

There was much more discipline at the plate and our batters stopped trying to pull everything, even pitches that were on the outside part of the plate.

It is Nicholls St but like you said it’s crazy how much difference solid coaching and approach can have with young hitters.

If LSU can get any consistency from the sophomore class they’ll win a lot of games next year.

Scary to think about honestly. Also shows how under coached they were.
