How do you know what the majority of LSU fans want. The majority of fans are not on this rant, they REALLY go to the games.
Since only 5,000 or so show up for any given home game the majority definitely doesn't go to games.

Why is anyone listening to that attention whore? I trust Slick Willie on the rant who has 5 posts 4 of which are desperately posting his email on the OT looking for nudes over that douche.

Good let them have him. I like him but not as LSU coach.

JJ was a top notch pg on the 81 final four team as a frosh I do believe. He is the guy we need to turn us around. He is an LSU guy all the way and took the LEarl fall after his dui. You guys dont know shite. After the dui, Daddy dale separated JJ from the program and JJ took the fall. This aint got shite to do with Collis. He's been out of the picture since Trent has been HC. And Collis bowed out when the talent in BR dried up. Do the math dumbasses.

You know, the absolute last thought running through my head on a daily basis, is whether you or ANYBODY else on this board like or don't like what I post. Well really, it's not even the last thought. It doesn't even enter my mind at all. Could totally care less about you Elleshoe or what you think of what I post. When I express an opinion, it's totally without thought on if anybody will agree, disagree, like or dislike what I say. I come on here for a few minutes late night and could just give a damn NOT on if my opinions are popular or not.
BTW, who is alumnus 82? You apparently and incorrectly have me confused with somebody else.

you spewing your racist garbage is ridiculous and really speaks to the type of person you probably are in reality. A trashy and ignorant redneck.

I think there are too many people on here who started watching LSU basketball for ther first time when Glen Davis was here.
I am not gonna be that "YOu youngins' don't know good from bad" guy. I am just going to simply state that Dale Brown was NOT a stud coach and highly regarded and we hired him. I'd say he worked out pretty well.
John Brady was NOT a big name at all. He was connected to the good ole Joe Dean, Jr. network. He's basically a flea version of Tim Floyd and also a product of guys like Richard Williams from State. He took LSU to a Final 4. Very improbable. I would say, overall, JOhn Brady was half success-half fail.
Trent Johnson was NOT a good fit here. I like him...cannot help but like him, but what he did out in Palo Alto and Reno...who really cares and was impressed with that? Trent's teams were boring. I mean really...who wants to watch Darenbecker shot jump shots and hope that Quincy Thorton gets the rebound? 4 year players are your goal? Then 6-10 SEC seasons will be your outcome.
We do not need a superstar coach because we have never had one. We won't get one, either and no...the VCU coach and Tony Bennett are NOT superstar coaches. And they're NOT coming here unless Joe REALLY opens up the pocketbook and waves 3 million like it's a bag of candy at Dixon, Bennett, Few, etc., then do what you do. I think it would be a total waste.
Even with A&M and MIzzou coming in, the SEC is not like the Big Ten or the ACC. It's a B rate version of the Big East...just tons of raw athletes. Ole Miss, State, and Bama do not play nor have the yever played scientific basketball. Florida and Vandy play it and to an extent so does UK (but they just cruise on athletes really). No one else is going to beat LSU because of coaching and playbooks, etc. It's simply who can make the shots and not turn the ball over and get to the foul line and hit 'em...there's SEC basketball in a nutshell...especially the western part of the conference.
Bring in JJ. I am over the Lester Earl situation. Bring in Livingston to assist him. Recruit the shite out of NOLA. Play Dale Brown style basketball. Be the best looking team when you get off of the bus; win 20 and lose 10 and finish 2nd every year; go to the NCAA and make a sweet 16 or regional final or 3 in 10 years.
It's all about the hosses. We just need Greg Monroes and Othella Harringtons and Chris Duhons to stay put...and we shall win. frick whoever the coach is. He's just a recruiter.

Great post Pisces. I just asked the question in another post who the hell would want this job? Why spend huge bucks like TCU is doing when you know what the outcome will be? Why not see what JJ can do? at least he will bring a few people back to the pmac. We really cant get much worse

I wouldn't mind the hire. It's a meh hire. Just as a last resort IMO.

Didn't Shaq back Johnny last time around when we hired Trent? I could be misunderstanding that, but I thought it was pretty well-known.

Jones has a "meh" overall record, but in 11 years he has won his conference only once. Other than being a former LSU player and a disciple of Dale Brown, this guy has done nothing to deserve this opportunity ~ mytigger

As a guy who has been bitching for 5 years over what LSU basketball has become, surely you are enraged over this possibility. Or have you accepted mediocrity?

Why not see what JJ can do?
He's already shown what he can do in 11 years as a middle-of-the-road Sun Belt coach.
Unfortunately, I believe he's who we're going to get stuck with.
