go youtube LSU vs ole miss highlights... look at play where JL gets hurt... he does both ... fades from contact and thrwos off his back foot.... however if you knew anythign about football you would know why he did that.

Its called waiting for reciever to come open.. 2.5 seconds is what a college qb has to get rid of the ball before somebody tears his arse up.
I wanna see JL get some snaps, not only b/c im a fan of the guy,.,,, but also bc I wanna see if there is improvement from last season....
Also it isnt as if though JJ set the fuking world on fire sat night.

harris has way more experience, so not a good comparison.

WTF? Jacorey Harris started two games last year. How many did Jefferson start again? Sure Harris played more during some games last season, but to say he has "way more" experience is a joke. This is a great comparision. Maybe the fact that Miami has the confidence to turn him loose and apparently LSU doesn't have the same to turn JJ loose would answer the original question.

little fun fact for you.

JJ's passer rating sat night would have led the nation for 2008 (186 vs. 180). Yes, it's one game and it was a safe game plan, but given what he had to work with he did extremely well.

I really don't like a 2 qb system, esp when it's not a Leak-Tebow where one guy is a run specialist and the other is the experiences senior. We need to just stick one starter, and work on getting the offense into a consistent rhythm. Saban's juggling of Russell and Randall still makes me cringe.

Don't think it's a fair comparison yet. Miami let this guy sling the ball all over the field!! JJ has not been given that green light. I do think JJ is probably a better runner than Harris. Harris was very accurate; that was impressive. That last near TD throw was unbelievable!

Yea, if Washington's defensive backs knew how to tackle and LSU receivers didn't run wild after the catch, JJ's passer rating wouldn't be nearly as impressive. I'd like to see some sort of chart on where the completions were actually made. LSU's receivers, with the help of the skillfull DBs at Washingon, were pros turning five yard passes into 20 yard passes.

jacorey harris was being alternated with robert marve the entire season last year. JJ only got significant playing time after lee began to falter badly and after les said he would be redshirted due to a shoulder injury. So harris does have more playing time. 2 different offenses on display tonite. I would like to see harris operate running the ball as much as crowton loves to call qb dives.

IM not saying JJ didnt play well.
However we had 67 yrds of off with 6mins to go in first half.
TT 2 tds were because of TT.... not JJ.
I expect JJ to improve.
HOwever IF I were JL and have to be thinking JJ did ok... but I can do better.

To compare it somewhat fairly ... IMHO>....JL looked much better THROWING the ball vs Au last yr than JJ did sat vs UW.

is part of being a good QB not getting the ball to your playmakers in single coverage/space?

so who was more responsible for the game winning td against auburn. Lafell or lee. I mean lee only threw it 5 to 10 yards at the most. I didn't hear lafell getting all the credit for running it in last year. If that is the mentality why were analysts drooling over Brett Farve completing 5-10 yard passes and the rb's turning them into 50-60 yard gains. I wish this mentality applied to all qbs.

so i assume you just aren't counting the first half of that game? Lee did look good in the second half, but he was awful the first half. Wasn't Charles Scott also a beast in that game?

pretty shitty when someone is an LSU fan, but feels like they have to spend all night putting down the starting QB that went 3td/0int for the game.

I remember a certain qb having a similar game and all kinds of clever nicknames were made in his honor ie General Lee. It is quite puzzling how a young qb throwing for 3tds and no ints coming away with a win is being second guessed for the guy who set an ncaa record for pick 6's. Amazing.

he threw what 1 maybe 2 passes in first half of that game?
He made a bad throw on the screen to KW>.. big deal so did locker sat... however what he did well in that game far outweighed that one throw.(if you want to call it a throw)

Yes CS made JL life easier that night.... but it still doent change the fact that JL threw the ball on the money all over the field.

you do realize that in the AU game Lee had a lower completion %, lower yards per attempt, fewer TDs, and more picks than Jefferson had against UW?

eta: Lee was 0-5 with a pick 6 in the first half.
