This will haunt me until this thread goes away. I feel like this is going to be one of those season long "I told you so" threads for both sides.

It's worth remembering that PM isn't scared to mess with a good thing. If he thinks that he has a better option than Jacoby at 2nd, he won't be afraid to make the change.

JaCoby is a top 50 pick. He's the best option.

Nice bump? This thread has nothing to do with the current Jacoby Jones since you started it before the Kentucky series. He's batting the same as Rhymes in SEC play.. Start a thread for Rhymes.

Not gonna argue with some fans, we just have some ignorant ones...

I think you misunderstood me Boat. I was just making the point that Jacoby is an average player, nothing more. The rantards who get a chubby everytime they hear Jacoby's name crucified me for even having the thought that Jacoby isn't living up to expectations. He'll be in the starting lineup Friday night, and I'll be pulling for him. He needs to get his head back in the game though.

You guys just don't like that PM is seeing the same thing the rest of us saw huh?
Butthurt. It's powers are strong.
You know just because we were wondering if a stint on the bench might shake him out of his slump doesn't mean we don't like him and aren't pulling for him. It's just that we want what's best for the team and him.
BTW, this was a nice bump.

Well done Rum Ham

Jones and got benched the midweek game before the Kentucy series and he played very well during the series. If it worked once why not try it again. Also, he had that stomach virus this past weekend.

I think the point that most people here made was "sit him and play who in his spot?" Playing yocom in his place isn't the answer. I don't think anyone considered playing katz at 2nd which I don't think is the answer either.
People are quick to yell "bench him" without asking themselves "who do we replace him with?".

Let's compare their batting averages from the past two seasons and I'll show you why we should NEVER EVER bench Rhymes. And showing you the batting averages is just the tip of the iceberg.
Look, we all want Jones to succeed, but I'll be damned, he just somehow can't seem to get on base.
It all comes down to this. Baseball is a hitting and pitching sport. If you can get up there and smash consistently, then they're gonna have to find a place somewhere for you. If you can get up on the mound and be effective and efficient, then you're gonna be in a whole lot.
Yes, defense and baserunning are important. But I'm sorry to say this, fielding and baserunning really and truly takes a backseat to hitting an pitching. And Jones has shown that for some reason, he can't seem to hit.
