Ridley definitely would pick DJ apart. Every game is going to reveal Dontes weaknesses in coverage and tackling and he will get exposed and cost some big plays

A lot like this

Why don't you try reading the post that I was responding too instead of just assuming that I am making blanket statements?

I was responding to Memphis saying that donte is an outstanding CB that smothers receivers. This is where I brought up the great CBs of the past because those guys were outstanding CBs that smothered receivers, Donte is not. You don't need the wide shot film to figure that out either. I attend most home games which is as wide a shot as a game can be viewed and it's evident on TV as well that he in no way shape or form smothers WRs. Your argument is a cop out. Basically you can't prove he does smother WRs so you just claim that I can't prove he doesn't and the argument is a wash. It's lazy and not factually true. Just look at the gif's that have been posted for reference.

I also noticed you glazed right over the part where I said that donte is a pretty good corner and DESERVES TO START because he's earned it in practice and by staying out of trouble unlike KT.

So next time you decide to pick apart someone's post, go ahead and read what they were responding to and also bring some facts or at least an opinion to the table cuz you argue like a 7th grade girl.

Jackson is pretty good, but needs to learn to look for the ball!

That's the funny thing. He is. Most of the vocal people on here wouldn't know a good corner any better than a good running back.

agree 100%, no one notices but many arent throwing in his direction... they've been targeting the freshman... one of his interceptions was on a poorly underthrown ball.. I still think they will target him in the future until he proves it over time.. but he is doing quite well.. Jackson has been stellar..

Agreed. Toliver an Jackson should rotate
Depending on who is covering better on the day. Or matches up better I should say

DJ has proven to be much more dependable to show up and play and not get into as much stupid trouble like KT. KT showed some promise as a freshman but has been a bust since. I say let KT stay as backup until he proves otherwise.

So you are better at evaluating tape than Aranda? Why are you not on the coaching staff?

I don't have a man crush, I just don't the man crush you guys have for KT. He has done NOTHING in 2 years.

Coach Raymond and Aranda BOTH seem to think DJ should start over KT. That is plenty good enough for me.

I have little doubt that once KT proves he deserves to start, they will put him in...and I'll be more than OK with that.

But so far this year, neither DJ nor KT has demonstrated anything to say their roles should be reversed. last year is not really relevant right now.

Donte Jackson=

Positives
* Speed (Faster than KT)
* Upperclassman (More Experience)
* Good hands whenever he gets his head around for a pick.

Negatives
* Doesn't wrap up when tackling
* Misjudges angles
* 5'11" 175 lb's (FCS receivers block him much less SEC)
* Has the same issue as KT at times getting his head
around.

Kevin Toliver=

Positives
* Has good coverage skills with sticking to his man
* Better at the corner position shaking of blocks on run plays.
* Longer reach and stronger (6'3" 203 lb's)
* Wraps up when tackling and making open field tackles.

Negatives
* Needs to straighten up and stay out of trouble.
* Doesn't get head around to look for the ball.
* Not quite as fast as Donte.

I really think KT needs to step up and work harder because as stated earlier a bigger receiver like Ridley is going to give DJ some trouble...We shall see how the season plays out

And the long pass vs Chattanooga.... that was Delpit blowing the coverage. Donte wasn't even on the field.

No but at least he is good enough to look at it and tell that Donte "WAS ON THE FIELD" and did get burned...

Things will change real quick the first time we play a team with some big physical recievers. They will absolutely abuse DJ. Aranda will be forced to put KT in who can match up better.

Fair point but, the really long pass that Chat. completed was on Delpit.

If the completion against Donte you linked earlier is the worst thing you can come up with, then he must be pretty damn good.

Im sure I could find more within the last two games, but lets also remember this isn't SEC talent we are playing, I mean come on when we play a team with a big physical receiver are you not going to worry at all, the evidence on the second gif i shared shows what happens and you are already seeing things against FCS schools that relate to the same type of mishaps that he had last year.
