Memphis, we can revisit this next week.
I say Greedy holds his own and Jackson will be the direction Miss St throws.
He is a good corner but definitely not a lockdown corner.

Every corner gets beat and in the time they've both been here DJ has been more productive than KT who, despite being the rant favorite, has done jack since arriving on campus.

You have almost no evidence to support this. One of the countless other threads on this topic disproved your point with weighted play percentages. Toliver and Jackson are near identical statistically when you weigh playing time. Why not speculate that they can compete for the starting role opposite Greedy?

Having said that, if you go back and look at the Chatt tape Jackson was picked on repeatedly, took a lot of poor angles, and seemed impartial at run support. Jackson was also getting blocked a lot by a FCS WR. Conversely, Jackson also had a few flash plays of greatness. IMO the jury is still out on both DJ and Toliver but we know for certain that we have a stud in Greedy Williams. For that matter, the jury is still out if some other vets won't get supplanted by freshmen on defense.

Move DJ to the offense - slot receiver or motion for jet sweep.

Tolliver and Greedy on D.

They'll all play. There's almost no way that any of them will sit on the bench the whole game. That's about all we know.

IMO Jackson is the defensive version of Malachi Dupre. Probably looks like a stud in practice with limited contact and in 1on1 or 7on7 drills.

But come gametime he lacks open field tackling skills and it's mostly due to poor angles.

Not only does he get beat often on short to intermediate routes but he follows that up with a missed tackle.

Against some of the better receivers in the SEC that's 6 points regardless of field position.

And the long pass vs Chattanooga.... that was Delpit blowing the coverage. Donte wasn't even on the field.

You sure about that, looks like he was on the field and making the same hand gestures that he does every time he gets roasted....But but ref he pushed me!!

Hell in my opinion defensively he cost us the UF game last year for getting burned on a route and then thrown like a rag doll by the WR for what was it a 89 yrd TD

He would be better offensively, he got the hands to play it...My opinion Tolliver is better at shaking off blocks, sticking by his receiver, and better during the run game, he isnt quite as fast but he is stronger than Jackson and has more reach, but for the love of god i am getting roasted for thinking there should be a competition going between these two... But yes it is Arandas call, i am just saying Donte makes me nervous

Best objective post yet. I'll give DA and the staff credit, but the eye-test with DJ shows some chinks in his coverage armor.
Will be interesting to see how KT takes this depth chart situation. He has the size and talent, just needs to bring the focus.
In the end GLAD we have ALL of them as it is a long season and I'm betting they will all get opportunities to make impactful plays.

Donte sucks. All he has is speed. Makes too many mistakes. I love it when he bounces off players, misses the tackle, gets up and acts like he did something.

I had too, how are you going to say Donte wanst on the field for that and that it was Delpits fault, I think Memphis has a man crush on Donte, at least the second page of this thread is somewhat or fully agreeing. I get that he is an upperclassman and all but I dont see him being locked in as the opposite corner, as far as Greedy goes just leave that kid in the game cause he will make the plays

I certainly don't want to have to get on here the day after the Bama game and say "I told you so!" regarding Donte attempting to cover Calvin Ridley. I'll take my chances with Tolliver covering big guys like him, but Donte will get exposed when HCs and OCs game plan all week against him and he has to guard a future pro bowl WR.
