Yes it does.

Kole taylor will still be asked to block

Every player is asked to block except QB. This offense will not have a true TE. The “TE”s will be WRs who trap block on some plays. They are not going to square up with DEs and move them. Their effectiveness in blocking will rely more on the element of surprise.

Also, when defenses load up on DBs to stop them they will take advantage of the size mismatch and run at them.

Kole Taylor will get a lot more production this year. He came on late last year when Gilbert quit because he was a quitter. His size is a perfect red zone target. He might not be the guy to block like Moss was but you can utilize him more with his size. They’ll find their guy to block before Labor Day.

But seriously, frick Gilbert am I right? Can we finally bash the kid for wasting a scholarship now that he is gone?

Moss was a good blocker for sure. He could block inline but that’s not how he was used the most as a blocker.

Moss was on a different level than most as a blocking TE so there aren't many that can compare to him. Bech is a more than willing blocker, but lacks the size to be the physical force Moss was. Now that Taylor has bulked up I think he will prove to be a solid blocker as well.

I'm all in on Taylor, this kid has the size and speed to be an AA college player and have an All Pro NFL career.
