This argument MIGHT hold some water if LSU had not also beaten Oregon at a neutral site and West Virginia on the road, and if Bama had not beaten Penn State in Happy Valley (and none of those games were close, by the way). None of those three teams has lost to anyone OTHER than LSU or Alabama.
And if Arkansas is not a top 10 team, I challenge you to find ten teams who are better.
Yes, the mid-range SEC teams are somewhat down this year, but LSU and Alabama are legitimately VERY good.

What exactly do you think those major flaws are?
Well, Mccarron can't complete a fricking pass more than 10 yards downfield to a receiver. If you take away the screens, crossing routes, and short passes to the tight ends, you've effectively taken away the passing game.
When matching up against power running teams, i.e. when LSU should put 3 linebackers on the field, LSU has a MAC level linebacker on the field no matter how you slice it. That linebacker, either Hatcher or Francois, will take shitty angles and be an unsure tackler.
I'm also less than impressed with our power running game. Our offensive line should blow the hell out of these subpar defenses, but we must insert Jefferson so they defense will play 11 on 11 to run the ball versus UT.

From top to bottom, I believe the Big 12 and the Pac 10 are both better than the SEC.
Know how I know you're fricking retarded?

You don't get number 1 and 2 rankings by being bad. You are an idiot. LSU killed Oregon, WV, and every other team they have played this season. Bama killed all their opponents too.

So we go and beat the Pac 12 best by 13(really 20), the Beg East best by 27... but we aren't THAT good? Holy crap... I may never come to this site again... You people are idiotic

Maybe the Pac12 but not the Big12 they are an illusion that makes you believe they better than they really are OU is really not as good as advertised. I believe OSU is better and will beat OU in that match up this year. Not one team in the whole conference can play D

True.

Grain of truth, but overstated.

Unfounded and reveals you to be an insecure self-loather.

other than us, bama, and pig u, i think the rest of the sec is mediocre at best. but this lsu team is the most complete team i can ever remember.

You people are insane. I never said we sucked. I believe both teams are top 5 teams. However, everyone is acting like both teams are just historically good teams. Both teams are just doing what top 5 teams should do: dismantle lesser competition. We're just playing a lot of lesser competition this year.
As for someone who said Bama beat Penn St., that is the worst one loss team at this point in the season that I can remember. They are at BEST a top 40 team.

When it's 9 on 6, even though the 9 are subpar, they're going to win most of the battles. And what happened in the 2nd half today? We ran the ball right down UT's throat when they knew it was coming. Either you don't watch much football, or you don't pay very close attention.

How many rushing yards did we have at halftime? Why do you think Jefferson was inserted in the game? Tennessee was loading the box, and our offensive line was getting no push.
Our coaches are generating rushing yards. Our offensive line is not.
We're an excellent pass blocking team, but our run blocking could definitely improve.

So, if LSU wins the BCS National Chamionship this year, are you going to celebrate it less because we aren't as good as some teams in the past have been? Again, we don't have to be historically good, just the best this year.

Bama will be #1 in BCS

No, you're insecure. Thus far this season, we've pounded a team that could win the Pac-10 (one of your so-called "deep" conferences), we've bitch-slapped the presumptive Big East champion, and we've skull fricked at least two SEC teams that have recuited very well of late and have talented squads (FLorida, UT). In the warped mind of the self-loather, this amounts to be being "not THAT good." Go nibble arsenic.

Who does the big xii have? Ou and osu....then a drop off. Kansas state isn't any good. Dont let their record fool you. It is the same in the pac 12. Oregon and Stanford....then a drop off

I totally agree. The entire point was to place both Bama and LSU's respective seasons into perspective.

I didn't realize that the game was over at halftime. When did they stop keeping stats at the half?

I thought I saw Miles blow 78 off the line, what position did stud play ?
