There’s only one real question about Kelly and it comes with context. He hasn’t been able to beat the elite teams when it’s really mattered. He has top 10 wins, I think he knocked off top ranked Clemson at one point but the playoffs have gone badly. The caveat is that Notre Dame has disadvantages and certain standards that have limited him in recruiting. He’s actually landed some great players and his QBs all go to the NFL but the restrictions come into play regarding depth and rounding out rosters. That won’t be the case here and he has lost in the playoffs but he’s also beaten top 10 opponents so there’s no reason to think he can’t get over the hump with the extra juice LSU provides.
