The whole name thing reminds me of the Aggies - I'm surrounded by Aggies all day, and their obsession with UT is similar to Oooh La La's obsession with LSU.

Serious question: if ULM decides one day, “hey, I think we need to start branding ourselves as Louisiana”. What will ULL do at that point? Is there a plan in place? No one has any legal recourse, and the networks will feel compelled to comply with ULM’s wishes as they have already complied with ULL’s. It just seems like the name recognition thing is contingent on ULM wanting to be realistic.

We are going to start calling ourselves the University of Louisiana up here in Monroe. Us and USL are practically the same universities so it would only make sense for us to be the Louisiana Warhawks! War Damn Hawks!

I just find it odd that the university as a whole pretty much goes by ULL, it is just the athletic teams that brand themselves as "Louisiana's Rajun Cajuns".
Like if LSU woke up tomorrow and some "decision maker" who did focus groups and market surveys decided to call LSU "Baton Rouge's Fighting Tigers".
