Regardless of what you think about Sloan as a playcaller, his run game schemes aren't good. The fact that we couldn't see any real difference in the o-line today tells you that. Good blockers...bad blockers...it all looks the same when people are loading the box and outnumbering you where they know you are going.

Not sure why Frank isn't more involved or maybe he is? Their RB rotation is a head-scratcher as well. Case-in-point...Jackson comes in today when we're trying to seal the deal. I mean he does literally nothing better than the other two guys. Maybe they were just trying to keep him outta the portal. Doubt it worked if he was thinking about it, Did the same thing with Pimp in OK game. Too little-too late.

Red-zone play-calling was criminal all season. TD Green showed how dumb we have been throwing fades all year with him on the sideline for most of it. Pimp too.

We will need to run the ball against better SEC D's. It has to start with getting guys like Durham/Berry in space. We will be prolific throwing the ball. Our '19 squad was known for that too but they would break your back on the ground too. CEH broke Bama and Burrow had some runs that were also back-breakers

I might be a novice at play-calling, but I would have tried a fade to Pimpton every time I was in the red-zone.

I have been saying that all season. It looks like we are still running Jayden Daniels plays with a QB that does not run…

LSU is also predictable by personnel. It’s flat embarrassing we can’t run the frickin ball. Soft

Why can't we just install the 2019 playbook. Yea we have different players but there's no reason it shouldn't work.

Well Sloan is the O.C. so i'm going to say he had a say in the schematics of it all. Kelly/Sloan/Frank/Davis...whoever....they need to fix it because a great OL has problems blocking when they are out-numbered at the point-of-attack and there's no misdirection to help and a QB that won't run

It looks like everyone just stands up and the back runs straight into the line. It's one of the worst looking run games I've seen in a very long time.

I can’t stand the rb standing next to the qb base setup like that. Hard to confuse the defense in that formation, no rb momentum on the handoff. I just don’t care for it.They don’t have to do it all the time but under center play action sets would work well too with what they have skill wise in my opinion.

Exactly, that play on the short yardage situations is just a waste. It never works for them.

Ok but it hasn’t been working so well all season and whose job is it to step in and fix it? The head coach right? Or maybe it’s the HC scheme that he’s not willing to change…

This. It's the same scheme 3 years in a row. It's that for a reason, It's what Kelly wants.

Just toss sweep the ball to Durham 10 times a game. It's not fancy but at least you get a playmaker in space. The only long run today was him bouncing one outside.

Just like today, he would have had zero catches.

Hey I totally agree that Kelly must insist on this scheme getting better, He's gonna have scat backs that change the scoreboard every play next year. You can't run them like Jacob Hester is back there

Running the ball doesn't start with getting guys in space, friend. Forget the RBs. It starts with good technique and push from OLine.

Im not happy with the run game overall, but the last three games, since Kelly has held a playcard in his hands (I was at the game, and didnt notice if he did this again today?) we have rushed for over a 100 yds.

Im not sure of the exact plays called, but they seem to be quicker hitting at times. I hope the trend continues.

Most teams help their OL with misdirection and outside runs...no?!? No space for a back thats running against more defensive players than they have blockers.

Durham and Williams both averaged 4.6/4.7 yds per carry. Between the two , 21 rushes for 102. Not a bad day. If anything, he should have run Durham more early in the game and had Josh close it his power.

This still starts with good technique from OL. We've ran misdirection and outside runs tons this year with most of them being blown up.
