We better recruit a catcher who can catch a strike and pitchers who can throw one

LSU baseball has sunk to the level of it being just OK to suck?

THE program of the last 30 years should never suck. Not Omaha every year, but not being blown out repeatedly.

What has happened to recruiting top classes?

Vandy & the Webels get #1 classes but not LSU?

WTF?

Not looking good considering we're losing the four highest ba. avg.'s (Duplantis,Watson,Bain, and Be. Jordan) on the team and Hess, the Friday night starter. And I'm not counting Broussard in that highest averages group because he's hardly had any at-bats in conference play.

The history/tradition, the resources, the fan base, the facilities.... are what fuels our program, not the coach! FACT!

We likely lose Watson, Hess, and duplantis and of course Bain, Beau, and Coomes are seniors That's a lot to replace. Hopefully Walker is back to form and Storz becomes the pitcher we need him to be.

Guess it depends of what timeframe of PM's tenure you want to compare it to.... right? For example, from 2010-2016 (7 years), there isn't any difference between him and Smoke.

Say it isn't so?

At the end of smokes tenure the team was depleted of talent and the direction of the program was straight down. In 2016 the season ended in a super regional and the team returning was expected to be one of the best in the country.

So yeah it isn’t so, especially since your completely arbitrary years for comparison are bookended by trips to the national championship series.

6 straight seasons of top 8 seeds. I don't think any other team in baseball can say that. CPM is having a bad year noone denies that but he gets a pass for how good year after year he has been. It's hard to have a good year when you have a completely new rotation and your ace wasn't even a starter last year he was your closer.

Skip missed the post-season in 88 after going to two straight CWS. But never missed the tourney again.
