It's not that Miles is above criticism

But the kneejerk Miles hate on this board makes legitimate discussion of his shortcomings difficult. Everything bad is his fault, everything good is to the credit of someone else. LSU will never do anything right as long as he's here. It's tiresome, and it's been here since 2005. When we won the BCS championship, there were people bitching because that kept Miles off the hotseat. There are LSU "fans" who didn't like him when he was hired, won't like him as long as he's here, and will never be happy until there's another coach they can bitch about because he's not Saban.

Saban treated you guys like shite, and you loved him for it. You still do. That's the definition of a beta.

Liking Saban bc he wins = beta

Liking les bc he's quirky and loses = alpha?

K got it

It's alpha to like loveable les and caring about winning games is for bandwagon fans

Do you understand the definition of knee jerk. This is spiral downward that began with the 2012 season and has progressed. It's like the analogy of the frog in boiling water that doesn't realize he's in trouble until its too late. He has slowly brought down the program. Look at the number of people on here saying that "LSU shouldn't expect to compete for the SEC championship every year." That was certainly not the attitude before 2012, but has quickly become the attitude under Miles.

This is not a knee jerk but a slow and painful decline of results and, now, expectations. Recruiting will soon follow. There's only so long you can convince recruits that you are "1 year away."

Some of us are smart enough to see this pattern. I for one want to see the school that I graduated from and have been a supporter of my entire life, avoid going deeper into a decline and better itself. Do not follow the Tennessee story, i.e. hold on to a long term coach so long that when you do finally make a move, you are not shopping among elite coaches, but instead shopping among "up and coming coordinators or unproven coaches."

People were saying the exact same thing about Stoops the last few years, and they're playing Clemson on Jan 1.

I'm really not that sensitive like you chumps. I want championships. If not, I'd like to be really close to one.

It's fricking amazing how worried you fruits are in reference to "how the coach treats the fans". He could tell us to go frick sand every single day...as long as he is in the running for a championship the last two games of the season.

Stoops has never had more than a two year stretch where he didn't win his division or a share of his conference title (in years when the Big 12 doesn't have a championship game).

It's easy to win or share your conference title when there are only two good teams.

We do, so that's our competition. You're only as good as your record and only get to play against your competition.

The hate was around looooooooooooooooooong before 2012.

Like the second game of his tenure,

Or his introductory press conference.

Acting like this is some long pent up frustration being finally let out is so dishonest it isn't even worth discussing

Okay, so does that mean that the complaints today are not justified because some were not happy earlier?

No, it doesn't change the fact that there are major problems and there are some on here that are more interested in Miles succeeding than LSU succeeding. I want LSU to maximize the talent we have at our disposal, when we do that I think we will compete with anyone in the nation. Based on what we've seen over the last 4 years, Miles isn't the person to maximize the talent.

Uh, how exactly would Miles succeed without LSU succeeding as well?

On the other hand, plenty of people would put seeing Miles fail above LSU's own success.

That's the perverted stance of the haters.

This is the Rant. These guys don't want legitimate discussions of football. Heck, I don't think that has ever been the norm around here. I'm pretty sure Saban got his share of sniping when he was here.

It's mostly a bunch of arm chair Uncle Ricos. And that is not necessarily a bad thing. There is entertainment to be had reading some of the stuff on here. Sometimes it drags on a bit much but often it's good for a laugh or two.

That is total bullshite.

There is absolutely no denying that LSU's football program has been in a decline over the past 5 years. All you have to do to prove that is look at it's SEC record. You couple that with the talented recruiting classes and the number of players we put in the NFL "top program in the country" and it reeks of we have and get the players but we can't coach them up properly to win titles. Which just heightens the issues that it is the X's and O's not the jimmy's and joe's.

No people have a right to be very disappointed with Les Miles he has underperformed with the talent he has had on the roster. He needs to change that next year or honestly "as a Les Miles supporter" it is time for a change.

The difference on this board between nega and posi Tigers is that one group wants to strive for excellence and the other is fine with participation trophies.

It's not "knee-jerk" to be frustrated with our antiquated predictable idiotic offense that Les insists on running at the expense of two (going on three) scapegoat offensive coordinators. It's not "knee-jerk" to be frustrated with three straight arse-kickings, while we have the best player in the nation. It's not "knee-jerk" to be frustrated with the fact that every single quarterback that Les has recruited out of high school has been obviously and terribly ill-prepared, and underdeveloped. It's quite reasonable to feel that way.

It's also quite reasonable to be frustrated with our inept administration that accepts Les' ineptitude.

Anybody still posting hate for Les is a loser. I mean it. Only people with nothing going for them besides LSU football are still doing this. Sure there are plenty of successful people who want him gone but I have a feeling none of them are relentlessly starting threads on the rant. Hey, losers get a life! Stop trying to live vicariously through the lives of 18-22 year olds. Lol
