It’s not so much the loss I’m struggling….its just how quickly the game was over

Went from 13-10 with :36 seconds to go in third to down 31-13 in less than 8 mins of play
Just a total gut punch watching our coaches and players panic like that

Truly miserable. Total collapse. We were up 13-10, held a commanding statistical advantage in every category, and should have been leading by a wider margin. Then every coach and every phase of the team imploded. Really inexcusable.

That’s where the defense plays a role. It was a complete collapse by offense, defense and special teams for about 7 minutes. And game was over.

Terrible drive by defense when we went up, highlighted by an anwful third and 9 conversion where we lose contain and Keys is just too slow to get to Russell. Offense drives to Bama 31 and fails another fourth down conversion. Defense has a good stand, special teams gets pinned back inside our own ten, offense fails a third and one with a terrible direct snap play call. Special teams terrible net 15 yard punt. Defense gives up touchdown on first play. Offense awful possession that culminates with panic move to go for it on fourth and ten.

Just a domino effect of disastrous decisions and plays that turned a very competitive game in which we looked like the better team into a
Blowout. If any of the above stretches/plays goes in our favor I think it’s competitive or we win.

In particular if we stop Russell on the third and 9 and it’s tied at 13-13 and/or we get points on the drive that stalled at Bama’s 30.

It all changed after the next possession. LSU was driving to go retake the lead. Leavitt was targeted on 3rd down. No penalty called. He was rattled the rest of the game. I will not be surprised to hear news about a concussion at tomorrow's press conference.

Not the first time we’ve seen Bama target our QB and it not get called. Gomer was surprisingly fair last night, have a feeling he would have stepped in if needed in the 4Q. I’m 100% convinced Stankey has the word out to his officials to treat us like Roger’s officials have been directed to frick the Saints.

Defense lost all momentum, right after LSU took the lead. When you can’t get stops in key parts of the game, things can unravel like it did. LSU has to get better on defense, or they’ll never win anything meaningful. Redzone offense was bad yesterday, no question, but you get a 3 and out or at least force a punt on that drive, who knows what happens.
