re: It's impressive as hell how quick Orgeron let this go to hell

Last fall- when the shirtless selfie came out you knew it was over. What adult with half a brain would do that??? much less the head coach of a major college football team???? Dumb is an understatement!!!

I have talked to a few people around the program. Some psi-LEm feel like Ed was almost trying to get fired, collect his money and live easy street. Once he won the natty and got divorced he went nuts.

Literally everything he did after the national title has been one big disaster
Lol at all the people that still think this shite started after the NC

Not his fault! He doesn't have the skills. The people that hired him have all the blame!

I’d love to see his score on an IQ test

I remember bitching on this board that the damage he would do if hired could last a decade. Then 2019 happened and I thought “holy shite was I wrong”. And here we are. I sure as hell hope the damage doesn’t last a decade.

it is bad, but not Curly Hallman bad. New coach will have to build an O line, but will have some other players to work with.
With the resources we currently put into the program the relative product/results Orgeron has put on the field is every bit as bad as Hallman.

Orgeron probably thought he could relax, hire anyone, and we would continue to roll after the 2019 season.
He was mistaken.
He was mistaken.

It’s laughable that some of you even think it’s that close. Hallman’s record: 5-6; 2-9 (worst ever); then 5-6, including the most lopsided loss in history; and finally, 4-7.

Of all the things you can be in life, why did you choose to be a dick?

Speaking of Hallman, does anyone have a bag of Golden Flake chips you can sell me ?

The fact that we're facing a Hallman type of year after a title means it's actually worse than Hallman imo
This is the correct answer. When you compare pound for pound the resources and facilities, this is worse than Hallman.

It’s laughable how you glossed right over the points of the post. The first showed he brought in more talent than his results indicated and didn’t leave the cupboard bare, the second noted the difference in investment in the program then compared to now. To put it in terms you may understand more easily, in 2021 it isn’t possible for LSU to go 2-9. What Ed Orgeron is currently doing is every bit as horrendous of a coaching job as what Hallman did. LSU’s floor is higher than it was in the early 90’s, but O has put us at the lowest point currently possible the same way Hallman did back then.

I agree but Les was crushing strange too and managed not to look this bad

how this team beat Florida
That was more on Dan Mullen. I think he underestimated the Tigers after their blowout loss at Kentucky. That, plus 4 interceptions, two developing quarterbacks, and a surprise running attack Peetz threw at the Gators paved the way for their demise. Even so, LSU was unable to stop the Florida offense in the 2nd half and the Gators still nearly avoided the upset.

I see your point. Yes, given where we started in 2019, the decline is horrendous. Still, the Hallman years were worse in my opinion.

There were signs in 2019, but our great team disguised them.
There were always signs. A transcendent QB talent only masked them for a couple of years.

I am now seeing how valuable Aranda was to that program. Very smart and calming presence that no longer exists
He was the only adult in the building.

We may have the worst staff in college football, we’re truly to that level and I’ve been a big O supporter. Talking about being blindsided by Bigfoot WTF.
