No. 11 LSU will face Clemson in the season opener for both teams in Tiger Stadium on Saturday, September 5. Kickoff is set for 6:30pm CT, and the game will air on ABC.

Both teams are coming off 7-6 seasons. LSU and Clemson met in last year's season opener, with LSU winning 17-10 at Clemson.

LSU leads the overall series with Clemson 4-1. This will be Clemson's first-ever trip to Tiger Stadium, as the first four meetings were played at neutral sites before last year's game at Clemson. LSU/Clemson Series History

Betting line: LSU -10.5 | Over/Under: 51.5 points

The matchup will mark the beginning of the Lane Kiffin era at LSU. ESPN's College GameDay will also be in Baton Rouge for the season opener, marking the show's 500th road show.

This will be just the fifth season opener played in Tiger Stadium in the last 20 years. LSU Season Opener History

Press Conference Tidbits:
- Lane started press conference talking about the mock walk-through this past Saturday, and how excited it made him feel.

- Said Dabo one of the best coaches ever.

- Regarding potentially signing NFL players: Lane says his priority is doing what is in best interest of the players. Lane met with Leadership Committee (made up of players) and asked them what they would do...and they said if it would help us win, bring them in. Lane has struggled with decision, and will wait for guidance from SEC.

- SEC has a rule that says head coach must make a list of players that will be on the final roster the day before first game...and that roster is locked for the season. Lane thinks the SEC is only one with this rule.

- Lane admitted that Dae'Quan Wright and Junior Tuihalamaka have practiced with the team. SEC was made aware.

- Lane is familiar with Clemson QB Christopher Vizzina...says he is very talented and throws well on the run.

- Lane said he won't predict if Dae'Quan Wright and Junior Tuihalamaka will play against Clemson.

- Lane says most position battles have been settled except for defensive tackle spot...says there will be rotation there.

- Says he learned his attention to detail from Nick Saban.

- Lane said he will need to know guidance from SEC and even the playoff committee before deciding to add these 5th year players to the roster by Friday.

- Lane says QB Sam Leavitt has had a great camp...and running game has looked good.

- Regarding the perception that he thrives on chaos: "I have lived in chaos for a long time...chaos is ok as long as it is controlled chaos."

- Regarding these NFL players coming back to LSU: "If they make your team better, and it is legal to do, and your players want it, I will take the hit publicly for it."

When do we typically get kickoff times & how far in advance? Waiting to find out for A&M - would that be on Monday 9/14?

typically, 12 days in advance...so you won't know about A&M kickoff until next Monday...

They just said this is the first season opener in Tiger Stadium since 2020. Kind of hit me when I heard that. That's a long time without opening the season at home.
