His guys better know how to get New Orleans talent.
We get a good share of New Orleans talent. Doesn't do a hell of a lot if they aren't successfully coached.

Do you think kids from LA are going to Bama because of ties. They are going because Saben wins Championships it's that simple. Canada will get coaches that fit his scheme with O's approval. We start playing for championship we can start cherry picking recruits. The Process

Burton Burns and CJ talked to the staff a few weeks ago...this has been in the works for awhile.

Juluke was told back in late December that Canada would be making the decision on whether he would be returning.
This an absolute FACT.
I down voted by mistake. Big fingers. But this is absolutely true!!

When Matt Canada was hired in mid-December as LSU’s offensive coordinator, he made it clear to Ed Orgeron in his interview that he wanted to evaluate the offensive staff and make recommendations, including possible staff changes.

Craig’s strength has been more as a recruiter and Canada preferred to go with someone with a stronger feel for the offense he runs. Under Les Miles, recruiting ability ranked higher than on-field coaching — especially on offense. Since Orgeron became the permanent coach, I have been told there were some “personality frictions” between Orgeron and Craig over the recruitment of some members of this year’s signing class. From personal experience, this tends to occur when an assistant feels as if he is not on safe ground.

While Canada will vet a number of candidates, keep an eye on North Carolina State wide receiver coach George McDonald, 40. He has a background in Canada’s offense and is an outstanding recruiter. In his 16 years as an assistant, his stops include Northern Illinois, Stanford, Western Michigan, Minnesota, Miami, Arkansas, Syracuse and North Carolina State as well as the Cleveland Browns. All total, he has coached 17 college players who have gone on to play in the NFL.

Memphis wide receiver coach David Johnson is someone else to keep an eye on. He has experience coaching running backs at Tulane and was offensive coordinator at New Orleans St. Augustine.

Another thing that's being completely overlooked is Juluke's wife has an illness. Could just be a coincidence but that does play a small role in him getting pushed to Admin role in Football Ops

The story on the radio was that O was pissed that Craig seemed more worried about shopping his name around for other jobs than he was recruiting. Is there any truth to this?

This looks like the most logical reason. Canada has to add the staff that can implement His system.
Consider this: When Ensminger took over as OC he had an OC by committee and with Canada taking over, Craig once again will have to take a back seat which didn't sit well when he was in Auburn.
Bottom line is we are shifting from a recruiting to coaching focus. I like it. If we can coach up the guys we have the recruits will come. Aranda proved that. Canada will as well.

People are actually pissed that O got rid of two coaches that allowed the state of Louisiana to be pillaged of its top talent while they were on staff?
Nawp.. That's not what I've been reading. Fighting over "why" he got fired- maybe, but haven't seen too many people bitching about him getting fired.

Craig was a likable guy, at least to the players, but not a good coach. Move that needed to be made.

I've been reading dumbarse post from rantards all day. As usual, this board is filled with people who don't have a clue. With a coaching change of this magnitude, Canada comes in with an agreement allowing him to bring a certain number of guys of his own. This is not about Orgeron, this is about Matt Canada. OrGeron made it clear earlier to certain guys, that he was going to give his incoming offensive coordinator the ability to build his own staff.
I normally don't disagree with you but some folks near the program went on record yesterday that this was not a Canada move. This was between Orgeron and Craig.

Its all good getmore. But when you say near the program, do you mean media guys?

No it's not. If it is then why is the first guy we contact a NO native?
Posted on 2/3/17 at 11:53 am to sunnydaze
We don't know "who" has been contacted. Only whats printed. Lets watch it play out. I still stand on the statement that Juluke and Craig were told (early December) that the incoming OC was going to be allowed to evaluate offensive staff.
