It's a Les Miles offense.

I have a want to watch 300 yards rushing every week.

Are you saying we should just keep this gameplan which may or may not get us to our goal and just go with it because it works against most of our schedule?

I agree with you, I think we need to switch to the offensive system that Bama typically struggles against...I just can't figure out which one that is.

I wasnt dissatisfied with ZM.. I moreso meant the offensive scheme and playcallling is what most fans were in hopes of seeing more out of.

But truth is, its first game.
Nobody got hurt, most players got reps.. plenty to work on for next week.

Except when you play the same team twice and run the same exact offense.

Jesus fricking Christ are yall serious with this shite?

Yeah, I'm ok with it as long as we keep finishing in the top 5, win SEC titles and have a chance to play in the title game all the while having top 5 recruiting classes too.

There are other good footballl teams. LSU isn't the only one.

You are another unrealistic fan.

where did I say this? Trolls gonna troll.

frick no I wasn't happy about the result of the championship and the way it played out. I guess I'm alone in this assessment...

This year we have a capable QB and I would hate to see our chances of a NC dashed because miles is too stubborn to change the playbook.

Some of you poor souls need to move on.

Nick Saban isn't bad at his job either ...

Has anybody mentioned that the game plan seemed to change after Mett's bell was rung? The quick screens were much more evident when Mett finally came back in than they were before the hit.

Yes because 20 yard shots down the field were necessary to win the game.

Thats the problem with LSU for the last couple of years. We seem to play down to our competition.

We should have a basic offensive package with a mix of runs, short passes and deep passes that we are good at and are able to execute against anyone.

From there you start adding in wrinkles. If you don't establish a passing game now, how do you expect to be able to do it against better teams.

I don't know anyone who was happy with the gameplan...but most realize that having JJ throw the ball wasn't going to change much (not that we shouldn't have tried...or brought in Lee). Different QB, better execution, make a few plays on defense, etc.

We abused everyone not named Bama last year. What was our last OOC loss, Penn St?

If we're ranked in the top four, and in the conversation for the NC all of those years...yup, I'd be good with that, but I'm a rational fan. Sure would be cool to win one though.

When did winning the NC become so easy? Do people forget going 43 years in between our first and second titles? Florida St. finished in the top four, thirteen years in a row...won two titles. Winning the NC is hard, I realize that. I'm happy when the team is great. But hey, I remember camping out for Indy Bowl tickets too...

Ok let's see if I understand you. You do something that works. But the next time you are faced with the same situation, you abandon what you know works and just do something entirely different, just for the fun of it? Is that how you operate in your life. If you do something right(a broad assumption here) you don't do it again, ever? Is that how you do things?

Hell I like smashmouth football. Wide open offenses are great. But their is nothing more satisfying than beating another guy into submission and making him quit.

That being said I still think that once Mett gets his feet under him, that we will see a offense close to what we saw with Flynn and Jemarcus.

I cannot say I was excited about the passing game last night. However, I didn’t expect to see us light up the airways either. This was the first start for Zach. I was more disappointed in the 10 penalties. They must fix the basic fundamentals of lining up and that is the responsibility of the QB to verify the alignment before he calls for the snap. Basic pop warner football teaches a player; if you can read the numbers on the back of the jersey, do not touch him.

Run blocking has not been a big concern for the most part, however, you cannot have a vertical passing attack, if you don’t give your QB time to read and throw. The lack of time enables the QB to lock onto one receiver. Pass blocking must improve by the time we get into SEC play and really this weekend. Right now, there are many more things to focus on that require immediate improvement, i.e., red zone production, before I worry about the vertical or lack of a vertical passing attack. That is just me!

Anyone that says, Les' game plan isn't to throw the ball vertically are just stuck in the last four years. Check the stats when JaMarcus and Flynn were here. Were we air raid, no and we never will be, but Les wasn't afraid to air it out. Les just has to trust his QB, he didn't trust JJ or Lee, he trusts Mett.

And before Mett got de-cleated, there was a difference to the offense. Fundramentally, no there wasn't much difference, but there was more complexity to the passing game. If you didn't see it, you don't know what to look for. After Mett got blasted, Les just wanted to get out, with everybody healthy, and the W.

And lets not act like there wasn't a hurricane and a day of practice missed. That has an effect on what you saw as well.

The offense will be more balanced and the ball will be thrown down the field more, just don't expect the greatest show on turf (or grass in this case).
