Miles has to look at the man in the mirror, and ask him to change his ways.

Why would an improved offense hurt our defense? Or are y'all seriously worried that we would score too fast?? Lol. As if scoring fast is worse than three and outs.

This has been said after every damn game this season. IF. 9 games into the season, when do you think these players are going to decide to show up?

The players showed up. Offense still hasn't quite gotten it together.

The series where Mett overthrew Beckham was typical of LSU's problems. First down we aligned with 2 WR, 1 TE and 2 RB. Both receivers aligned left and ran posts. Everyone else stayed in to block, so we had 8 blocking. Aggies covered with 3, rushed 7 and left one to pick up anyone sneaking out.

Pass pro held up, but Mett had to wait for both receivers to get 15 yards downfield before they made their breaks. He made the right choice because The safety helped with the inside receiver and Beckham had single coverage.

However, because of the 7 man rush, Mett had to step up in the pocket before the receivers made their break. He actually release the ball right before Beckham broke on his route. The defender got his hands on Beckham, which slowed him just enough so that the ball was overthrown.

Problems with that play - Mett tried to throw a perfect pass, but Beckham couldn't run a perfect route. A slightly underthrown ball would have been a touchdown. With only two deep options on the play, Mett had to release before the receivers made their breaks. Beckham let the CB slow him down - he should be strong enough to blow through the CB's chuck.

Second down, same personnel, pass is batted at the line. Aggies rushing 6, so lots of defenders plugging throwing lanes and announcers pointed out that 80% of Mett's pases are to the outside.

Third down, we put 5 receivers out, but our center gets blown up and Mett is sacked. Not unexpected on third and ten.

You guys are way off. The offensive game plan was excellent against Tamu. The Tigers repeatedly went deep against 8 man fronts. Jarvis Landry dropped one; Mett missed a wide open TE that would have been a long TD; we hit on one for a TD to Boone; and Mett badly overthrew a handful of others. If the players had done a good - not great - job, we would have had 250 yards passing and a 20 point victory.

Shhh. Don't go around using logic and expecting logical consistency in the bitching and bellyaching coming from the deeper darker recesses of the rant.

The Stubbornness of our Head Coach will once again lose this Bama game. Its more about him thinking he's right, he has proven that already. Pretty much sacrificed a BCS championship and pretty much took it away off his own team just because he wanted to be right and puts his faith on the hands on one QB who clearly was not performing well. The guy has been too soft on his starting QBs and doesn't give his backup QBs any credit. It will be the death of LSU years to come. Stop being so stubborn Coach!

Whether any of you want to believe it or not, JJ was our best option last year. Even the media knows it, and has stated it this year.

LOL @ the back-up always being the favorite!

I think that most fans believe that there is a middle ground that requires good coaching and that Miles and his offensive staff can't pull off. Spread the field a little more and force defenders out of the box. Put three WRs and a TE in the pattern and the defense has to drop at least five in coverage or we'll have someone running wide open.
Someone didn't watch the game yesterday.

What did Griese say during the game about our formation and something about he counted 18 times...I didn't hear the whole comment?

You mean the one where he said LSU should be running the ball instead of throwing it?

It just seems that Miles approach to offense is to simply out talent you. If he can blow you off the ball, he knows how to make it a long night for you. But I'm sorry, if confronted with a team that he can't simply manhandle, Miles seems befuddled as to a plan B.

My only complaint against Miles, sort of. Well, most of my complaints are based on the offense.

1. QB's regress under Miles' tutelage.
2. He is so GD stubborn and refuses to open things up.
3. The talent is there on offense (at the skill positions), but he squanders it with a conservative game plan.

I'll use Bama as an example of a great offense in the SEC. They can run the ball well (as does LSU), but the passing game is polished and efficient. I refuse to think that you can't have both a good running and passing game.

I'm happy for the wins, but it's just frustrating knowing the potential that's there and isn't being utilized.

With a respectable running and passing game, right now we are undefeated.

I am a true Tiger fan, but who ever calls play's in the red zone is a RETARD whether it is Les or Stud! I know we have injury's on our OF line but we have to play with what u got. We run the ball 60 yrds. to the 10 yard line & we try a backward pass for a lose of 3 yrds. For Christ sake give the ball to Hill & get out of the way! Although the WR have drooped a lot of passes this year, Mett has been disappointment so far. I realize this is his first year in Dev. 1 football but I thought he would be a much better passer, but he still looks shook up back there. If Les doesn't come up with a different plan we have no chance against Bama because we have no offense!!!

This is exactly the source of a lot of the frustration. LSU started the season ranked number 1. With a moderately efficient offense, LSU would likely be undefeated and still ranked number 1.
