I would expect it to be significantly shorter. Oral arguments on venue, the manufactured emergency of the meeting tomorrow/threshold issues of the bogus 1A claim, and getting around the Anti-injunction Act.

Still interesting, but not the sexy testimony driven hearing they had last week at the 19th JDC.

What would make things very interesting is if the court holds venue is proper and LSU turns around and files a Sherman act claim.

I don’t think it’s moot because the SEC specifically phrased the complaint to claim the First Amendment injury persists even if LSU never rosters the players. Filling the roster probably kills any genuine argument that emergency relief is necessary, though.

There are definitely jurisdiction and venue questions though. Having to do with what exactly the SEC is as an entity, LSU as an arm of the state, etc. If the court rules favorably for LSU on those they won’t even get into the meat of the lawsuit today.
