Why do you say that Arkansas is more tested than LSU? They played in the same conference, both went through a regional and super regional at home.

They played a tough opponent in Tennessee with the season on the line.

You also don't have any evidence that Tennessee would have beaten West Virginia if matched up

There's no argument that West Virginia played well. They shite the bed. The couldn't throw strikes, fielded poorly, and struggled with the heat and illness. No reasonable person believes they played well.

In addition, we have a coach and players who have succeeded in Omaha before.

What the hell are you talking about? What does that have to do with what we are discussing?

Not really. Once again, they have one of the best, if not the best, team in CWS. Once again, they will choke. Never won anything and never will.

Being tested and passing that test is a big advantage over a team like LSU that hasn’t really had to raise its level of play yet.

This is an insane thing to say

Actually consider it disrespectful to LSU. You think they just showed up and beat the hell out of WVU? That wasn’t considered ‘raising its level of play’?

You are right. WVU played well. LSU was just too much for them to handle. The 25 walks was a reflection of LSUs lineup just being impossible to pitch to.

You people who can’t handle reality amuse me.

So our series win against them doesn’t count?

I don’t know how much Arkansas has depended on HRs, but a big field and the whims of the wind up there seems to be a factor. Going for the wall is just an easy fly out in many instances. I remember being imprinted with disappointment years back and think that the small ball strategy may be what determines the winner. And I feel a lot better seeing our guys have learned to bunt this year. Go Tigers!

None of the teams really rely on the homer, if anything, lsu may lean on it slightly more than arkansas, but its close.

Lsu has faced elimination, and been down in an elimination game, i think that hardens a team a bit. Arkansas has breezed so far

LSU played down to that competition. Arkansas raised its level of play and rolled a quality team.

If you have to fool yourself and believe that LSU played well in postseason so far, have at it.

Arkansas is as ready as it can be. LSU barely survived vs. Little Rock and WVU didn’t show up. And that was the premise of my post. If LSU beats Arkansas in this situation, it will reinforce the belief that they can’t win.

I think 2 things can be true. Lsu played well, and west virginia, via some bad luck, the environment, and talent, played poorly. Lsu also played well in the first 2 games of regionals. I think lsu has played well all 4 times jay has gotten his team to the postseason. Its one of his best qualities.

Im not saying that lsu is going to win, actually i think they probably will not, but i also think they are more battle tested lately and that counts for something

Kade Anderson gave up 9 H and 6 ER in 7 innings. In game 2, Eyanson barely made it through 5. That’s Close to if not their worst outings of the year. Most people would have been very concerned knowing hiw LSU starting pitching would perform. Instead, LSU coasted because WVU was historically bad on the mound.

It’s just the truth.

Both had 30-40 minute breaks in between because of big offensive innings. Definitely throws off rhythm. WVU is also solid hitting the ball

What are you saying? They pitched well as compared to how they typically pitch?

I don’t disagree with you. Just saying why I think they didn’t have the best outings

Most people arent considering conditions and gameflow. Kade and anthony had 6 run leads, combine that with the heat, and games get sideways. Eyanson pitched twice last week, he was always going to lose a little effectiveness last weekend. Offensively, since the postseason started, lsu has been a juggernaut.

Runs scored so far:
7
12
4
10
16
12

Lsu had 3 runs or more leads in all of the games and all the wins were by 4 runs or more. I know the competition isnt fantastic, but plenty of good teams lost to similar competition.Thats impressive to me.
