Tulane doesn't deserve fair. It's a miserable game on the LSU schedule. I wish we would abandon the whole thing.
It is not LSU's responsibility to keep Tulane's athletic department afloat. Tulane should get out of the football busniess and concentrate on their overrated academic program.

That right there should give it away. He was joking!

At which point their AD would implode.

Neutral site game with a BCS conference opponent. Is that not comparable to playing UNC in Atlanta?
What part of that was I making difficult?

I have been saying this for years. Skip's policy was to keep the cupcake money in-state. If LSU has any sort of moral or public obligations, it's to support local, in-state, PUBLIC schools. If we want to stay in Division I, Bowl Subdivision, we have Tech, UL-M, UL-L, who all seem happy to get a big check, play on a big stage, and get a high return for light travel expenses. If necessary, if we need a last minute Championship Subdivision team as a schedule replacement, we should look first to McNeese, Southern, Northwestern State, or Grambling. Certainly McNeese and Southern would give us a more entertaining game than Tulane.
Tulane can STFU and DIAF. Stupid Greenies....

You can't be that fricking dumb?
Some 5A high school teams might be able to beat every team in the SWAC

I agree with many of the posts that say the Tulane games should go bye-bye. LSU needs to focus on what will help them with recruiting. For this reason, I am not a huge fan of the UW game. LSU should look at a neutral site game in Houston against Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Baylor, or even Texas. I think the first three are doable and the Texas game would just be awesome.

One in state game in death valley per year rotating between ULL/ULM/La Tech/Tulane is good.

I don't think it's fair to Tulane fans to make them watch a two-win Army come in and beat them by 30 points, either.
Posted on 9/3/09 at 8:58 am to Ace Midnight
If you honestly believe that then there is no help for you.
The SWAC is absolutely pathetically bad.
Tulane kept it within 30 last year, SU couldn't keep it within 40 of our walk ons

I wish him well.
Toledo is a solid coach and an interesting guy.
But he is not really in a position to do anything except take the deal on the table, or go get another deal.

Likewise, playing aTm or even Baylor in Houston wouldn't be horrible. Houston would give us a better recruiting exposure

It doesn't matter if the game was on Mars, the result would be the same
So why not do it where financially it makes more sense? ..we're talking about two teams that are only an hour from each other...and may I remind everyone that the ONLY reason we continue to play teams the in-state teams (Tulane, ULM , ULL, and La Tech) every year is so the money stays in the state of Louisiana. Do you really think we would be playing an OOC schedule that included these Louisiana creampuffs if we didn't want to be State-friendly?
Bob needs to quit bitching and start learning how to win games and trim his waistline

LSU vs. one of the Big 12 North teams that relies on Texas recruiting in Dallas or Houston.
I suggest LSU vs. CU in Dallas.
Tulane, like Nola itself, is a shadow of its former self.
