The arguments being made in this thread are compareble to having a shot clock all game, and it going away in the final minutes to benefit the team winning more.
The OP was about rampant fouling taking enjoyment out of the game, just like freezing it did back then.
I added it gives advantage to trailing teams to foul as it forces the shot(FTs), instead of allowing the leading team to run some clock prior to electing to shoot.
Maybe the leading team would rather pound inside, drive for layup, or kick out for 3.
The choice is gone because of the trailing team's infraction.

You say make the FTs, and I say FU, you fouled me, I want the ball back.

You show your ignorance right here. Even any lay up a offense gets at that point will be more difficult to make than a free throw. Key word being FREE.

Stick to 1 on 1 in the back yard where you get point or ball. This is real basketball LSU is playing.

Well then if it's so much easier I guess it would be stupid to foul multiple possessions. Amirite?
You know it's the clock trailing teams are defending.

I still think it should be a FT/IB choice, or maybe FTs with a clock run-off would shut that foulfest shite down.

Well, I mean teams do foul on multiple possessions sometimes. The team that has to do the fouling is in a desperate situation, similar to a 2 min drill in football. If the leading teams make FTs then they win 99 times out of 100. Its that simple.

You must hate march madness. Some of the greatest moments in college basketball history would not exist because of the rule changes you are lobbying for. Thank god the people running CBB aren't as clueless as you are.

A better shot than an uncontested free throw shot?
good lord, man, do you even understand basketball?

Apparently a lot more than you. Tell me which is easier to make. Two shots from 15 ft away, with nobody guarding you or a lay up with a 6'10" forward trying to contest the shot.

And I can pretty much guarantee you I've forgotten more about basketball than you have ever known.
