I saw a QB who snapped the ball early and got an illegal shift penalty, then stood there waiting on the call instead of lining his team up for the snap.
Now that is mostly a coaching issue, but the narrative that Etling was the only reason we stood a chance is ridiculous. The only reason we couldn't kick a FG to win it was because of a crucial fumble.
This is some grade A spin here.
I'll counter with the fact that we don't score our TD with Harris at QB because he'd never have made that pass.

Yea, he was clearly affected by the hit to his head. You can't honestly be arguing otherwise. Scratch that, you totally can be.
frick it, bring Harris back in. Nothing but 3 and outs will be super fun to watch.

Not like that one he hasn't.

I agree that he should play in a limited role, maybe. Harris is not as good as he thinks he is. That is a problem. Etling has more desire to win at all costs. Just like any job, though, the head honcho decides. I do think Baw will pull players quickly. Why would you not,

The dude hung on to the ball way too long saturday night. Some of the pressure came from bad O-line play, others came from him not releasing the ball. Like i said earlier, i don't believe Etling is that great of a QB. He's serviceable, but nothing great right now.
No one is saying he is great. But he is a leader and a fighter unlike Harris. BH pouts on the sideline when things dont go right, and Etling takes a cheap shot to the dome, doesnt wipe the blood off and gets back in.

OK tough guy.

Dude had 67 or so pass yards before the final drive
Missed a wide open WR on the outside for an easy TD too. I think it was Dural.
The point isn't to dump on Etling, and he hasn't really done enough to lose his job, but the idea that he is head and shoulders above Harris is dubious at best.

I think Etling played with a lot of heart, and toughness in the Auburn game. Something LSU qb's have been lacking for a long time.
Us LSU fans tend to overhype players, so I have been skeptical since he won the job. He's not Peyton Manning or Drew Brees by any means, but he's a tough qb, who can lead, and can make a play, or two, here and there.
I think he deserves to finish out the season as the starter.

If Harris stays in the JSU game, we lose.

like I said, that isn't exactly a positive for Etling

calm down
I just think we will see Harris this weekend and I haven't written him completely off yet
I'm not calling for Etling to be benched

Not only has Etling looked better, but his stats are better. He checks down, escapes the pocket and runs when nothing is open, and manages the team better at the LOS.
Also, I want Etling to get more snaps because Harris started last year and he hasn't progressed this year at all. It's time to see if Etling can grow and play better than he is today, because I'm not sure Harris has that potential.
Compare their stats:
Brandon Harris
Danny Etling
If you compare the Wisconsin game to the Auburn game, they're pretty similar in their numbers. But that's considering Etling was pressured much more in the Auburn game than Harris was at Wisconsin. Also, Etling moved the chains with some of his runs where Harris hasn't this year.
Take a look at ESPN's Raw and Adj QBR. Etling is almost 15x higher than Harris.

I think every position/player/coach should be analyzed. There is plenty of blame to go around.
FOURNETTE needs to get healthy before he steps on the field.
