I'm not sure how you can compare last year to this year.

The "starting spot" was not Lee's going into the season. Now if your argument is that he had won the starting job over JJ through his play this season, then ok but I completely disagree. IMO the starting spot was never won by Lee or given over to Lee. His play was not spectacular enough to beat out JJ. I mean, hell, JJ had to come in against Bama so that we don't lose that game.

I will simplify this. Forget who anybody personally feels is a better QB. To me, that's irrelvant. But if your opinion is anything other than Les is playing Jefferson because he thinks he's better and gives a better chance to win, then your opinion is not only wrong, but fricking stupid. And that is a fricking FACT, Jack.

only problem with this is that the majority of posters here REGARDLESS WHICH QB HE OR SHE PREFERS will admit neither one of these guys are head and shoulders above the other one and both are mediocre.

So I just do not buy this 'whichever one gives us the best chance to win" bla bla fricking bla.

IMO both give us an equal chance to win.

This

I'm a guy who thought JL should get starts because He earned it but I have to admit that after seeing JJ the last few weeks Jefferson has now earned it. We can't let what's considered fair to one guy trump what's best for everyone.

Didn't read the whole thread, but it seems like the place for my lil story:

Went to the Ole Miss game this past Saturday. Started off well enough, but ultimately had to move 3 times due to the amount of ignorant dumbasses spewing nothing but negativity. Normally, I feel the need to confront these types, but I didnt want to ruin the game for my friends or myself for that matter, so we just moved to avoid the annoyance. Just didn't think we'd have to move 3 times.

The last area was probably one of the most stunning things I have ever witnessed from a fanbase and still can't believe it happened. We moved to about the 45 yard line, just behind the LSU sideline. The crowd had obviously cleared out by that time so voices were carrying pretty good.Just after the first kneel, this jackass about 10 rows up starts screaming, "Loser Miles! Loser Miles! Miles you suck! We need to fire your dumb arse! We never wanted you here and it's time for you to go! Loser Miles!!! Loser Miles!!!"
The guy had two little boys with him that were begging him to stop, but to no avail. Finally, I had enough and we exchanged words and he just picked up and left.

Some Ole Miss fans came up to me and asked what the hell is wrong with our fanbase because all they heard was LSU fans full of negativity.

Unreal.
Wish I could have told them I was surprised to hear this, but, of course, I wasn't.

Anyway,just thought I share.

This doesn't surprise especially seeing the opinions of ignorant portion of our fanbase who just got dial up Internet and are posting on here.

That's fine. I'm strictly talking about Les and his decision making. You can disagree with his decision, but to think his process involves anything other than what he thinks is in the team's best interest is retarded.

this makes absolutley no sense.

why dont we rotate every position on the team and let the other guy "earn it" vs inferior competition if thats the case?

It's true there are some LSU fans that are bitching and moaning so much they cannot possibly be enjoying this season.

Ultimately I think these very vocal guys aren't very bright (seriously) and they are convinced that Les is gonna screw up the season by playing Jefferson.

It's an amazing sight to see...some redneck bumpkin spitting and cussing after the team that he supposedly is pulling for is blowing the other team off the field.

We do let other guys at every other position "earn it" vs inferior competition and practice as well. The problem with your thinking is that in Miles' eyes, Jefferson has earned it no matter how Lee has performed.
So it doesnt matter what "you" have seen from Lee that makes you think he is being treated unfarily.

Im going to say it right now, if we end up playing alabama again, dont be surprised if JL is called upon to step up and make a differnce.

I expect a diff type game than the first.

I will be pulling hard for JL to succeed. But I really don't see him playing well against a saban style defense. Saban wants to hit QB's as much as possible and JL struggles big time standing in the pocket and taking shots. Receivers are rarely open immediately and the only QB we have that will stand in the pocket and take shots is JJ.

Jefferson did not really do anything against Bama except not turn the ball over. Two field goals in regulation, on first before half Jefferson had key 29 yard pass to Randle, and 5 yard run. The rest came from Ware/Ford and the second field go LSU gained a total of 2 yards. Then OT that was all the backs, as I said a change needed to be made but Jefferson isn't the reason they won either, it was again special teams, defense, an backs.

We were pathetic on offense when both qbs were in the game.
Only diff is JJ didnt turn it over.
He made 3 noteworthy plays in the game.
Passs to clemnt in the 4th qrter out of endzone (or close to it).
The scramble on that same drive and the pass to shep for the other fg, which should have been 6 pts had the ball been thrwon on time.

I dont see NS letting LSU have success on those type plays again... most notably the opition.

We need better oline protection and blocking first off.....throwing the ball gets us in a better situation to run, so I think that we are going to have to have a better effort in the air.

Jefferson made some good plays with his feet during the bama game. His improvement on the option has been pretty nice to witness towards the end of last year and through this year. He ran the option pretty well in that bama game.
