I've noticed when Ed Orgeron names Defensive Tackles, he'll name Tyler Shelvin, Apu Ika, Glen Logan, Jaquelin Roy, Jacobian Guillory and Eric Taylor, but I don't hear updates on Farrell.

That is because he is playing defensive end

Key part of rotation last season and should see more snaps with the losses of Chaison fehoko and Lawrence
He seems high on Justin Thomas

Neil Farrell is not a 4-3 DE. He's built like Glenn Dorsey.

I believe he's still slated to start or be heavy in the rotation. Kid is likely our best inside pass rusher.

No he is not playing DE. He’s a 3-tech DT like Glen Logan. He will be in the rotation.

It’s awesome how many guys we now have on the DL. For 4-5 years it felt like we were always short handed.

Not having 5 fullbacks aid 7 TE on the roster certainly helps

O has done a great job of roster management

He doesn’t mention his name with the DEs either.

Jaquelin Roy is going to jump both Farrell and Logan by seasons end.

Roy will get some action, but please don’t act like Ferrell and Logan are scrubs. They’ve both proven to be good players and will be heavily relied upon all season.

Logan will be a BEAST inside, he's much quicker than interior offensive lineman....If Farrell stays on his same trajectory he will be a great part of the rotation

To be fair, that wasn’t crazy considering we ran an offense from the 1920s

Farrell MAYBE. Definitely not Logan. That’s crazy talk. Logan is a fricking animal.

Who said they were scrubs? They are both good players. I’m just saying Roy is going to be on a different level and I think he’s going to show it sooner than later. I can’t see how that’s a negative thing but people on the rant hit downvote before even reading most of the time so oh well.

Pelini puts a premium on experience and technique. Roy may be more talented, but he likely won't jump the two seniors.

Farrell was actually the most statistically impactful dlineman this season

Great thing is we actually may be able to play 8-10 Dlinemen this year. That depth is significant! Obviously, you play your best players, but if you can sub the whole damn Dline for a series regularly you have a huge advantage.
Oh, and Farrell will be fine, he did his job VERY well last year.

Orgeron always talks up true freshmen during camp. It means nothing. Neil Farrell will be 1st DL off the bench and wouldn’t be surprised to see him and Logan rotate starts. He’s not behind Roy or Guillory. O did this last year with Ika but Farrell got a lot more PT than him.

To be fair to Ika the were different positions last year. In fact early Fehoko played more at nose that Ika did. Farrell and Logan were a good 2 man tandem at DE last season and will be a good tandem at 3t this season
