Are you comparing lsu football in '94 to lsu baseball in '12?

No, but LSU baseball given the resources we have available compared to the competition should be doing a helluva lot better. In 6 years under Mainieri, we've made the CWS 2 times, won it all once. We had a good season, but with the pitching talent we had there's no reason we shouldn't have at least made it to Omaha.
Are we past expecting to make the CWS every 3-4times out of 5 years? Yea, there's more parity now, but no one has told the boys in Columbia that.

Manieri is on the hot seat, now!

Why?

He is a HC, in denial. He has no idea that his hit-coacing and base running coach, needs improvement?

Either he is in denial, which is a sign of a problem, or he is lying. What is PM hiding? Because he does need to radically improve his team's hitting and base running. Heck, in our last game with Stony Brook, his "fresh number 3 pitcher" was clobbered with 15 hits, while LSU struggled to get a paltry 3 hits.

Paul Manieri has the biggest and most supportive fan base in the NCAA; Paul Manieri has the best facilities in the NCAA; Paul Manieri earns 700,000 dollars per annum; Paul Manieri has ample talent to be in the CWS.................I'd say he should feel like an annelid, earthworm, in a pile of angry fireants. He is in denial, if he doesn't feel pressure..........

Oh! I almost forgot, PM gushed and predicted an NC for Stony Brook....as he smiled. leaving the ball park. Guess what? Stony Brook, miserably, went TWO AND BAH-BUH-QUE!!

This is a situation similar to Miles and Crowton.

It's actually worse. Compare Crowton's coaching resume to Javi Sanchez and tell me the difference.

I understand a hitting coach in baseball doesn't have to have the best resume out there, but I feel the LSU baseball program overall should be held to a elite standard just like football And if you are a coach here, you should have a good coaching background. And it's sad for the players that come here and give it their all like a Jacoby Jones, and he's not given the tools to be his best. (elite coaching - hitting)

I think he needs to be on the watch and see list.... I never cry about a coach until i feel it is time to and I am starting to see a problem coming to the surface with PM

look he has stated that a hitting coach is overrated how can this be when MLB super stars have their own personal hitting coaches. but college players dont need a hitting coach. he needs to get somebody to hit the baseball.

So I say LSU starts hitting the baseball and get back to the CWS are some changes will have to happen...

I am getting sick of tired of teams hitting the baseball all over the place and LSU looking dazed and confused at the plate SB made LSU look like a high school team with there hitting.. So I say he could be on the hot real soon if he doesnt turn the hitting part of the team around!!!!!!!!!

It's like miles going 11-2 in 2010 with Gary fricking crowton as OC

Yeah, the record was good, but you could see the major downfall of the team.

than the next year we go unbeaten in the regular season and then bet beat by bama, well because its tough to beat a team like bama twice in one season.

so because we aren't doing as good as USCe we should obviously fire coach CPM

btw if USCe wins the national championship this year, they will be doing better then we did in any three year stretch in the 90s. Are you saying we should have fired skip because we never won 3 championships in a row. (USCe is in great position to do this)

USCe is having the best stretch of any team in a 3 year span since USCw in the 70s. I think we should consider comparisons with a team who is having one of the greatest stretches in college baseball history as a bad comparison to make. Our 90s teams didn't even do this well. (based on a 3 year stretch not 10 year stretch)

I wish I had folks like you to answer to at work, support and defend mediocrity. I bet some of y'all were hoping Trent would stay another year. Even with the piss poor hire that was made he has recruited circles around what Johnson was doing.

When did trent get a top 2 seed in the tournament and win the SEC regular season title. Because this is the equivalent in basketball as what CPM did this season.

5 postseasons in 7 years. 4 hosted Regionals. 4 Super Regionals. Only 2 trips to Omaha. And obviously, 1 National Championship, which buys him an incredible amount of good will. But, conversely, will have been 4 years without a trip to Omaha following a National Championship win. Would be really hard to argue that the program is still on the same level as it was in 2009.

every year 8 teams make it to omaha ONLY 8 that is 1/8th of every team who makes the post season

now the two years we missed the post season sucks. But his first year he took in a beat up program, not even skip in his prime could bring that team to the post season that season. 2011 we got jipped out of making it to the post season. We had a good RPI just didn't make our tournament.

2 trips to omaha out of 5 chances. Not horrible.

this isn't the 90s we aren't the best team year after year in college baseball.

USCe run is unnatural.

CPM shouldn't be on the hot seat after making well a mosterous improvement.

it would kinda be like taking a 7-5 team in football and making them a 11-2 team making it to a BCS bowl game in one year. What AD would even consider firing a guy like this.

Or in basketball, taking a team who didn't make it to the big dance, was 4th worst team in the SEC. To a top 2 seed in the big dance, and win the SEC, with 2 other schools as top 2 seeds, and one of those two with the overall number 1. What AD would even consider firing a coach who improved like this.

Manieri has had a record of having a bunch of clowns as assistant coaches.

Can't argue with anything there.

In that case, you're both stupid.

Terry Rooney, a former Mainieri assistant at LSU, is now head coach at UCF, a team that beat Stony Brook in the Coral Gables Regional. Cliff Godwin is an assistant at Ole Miss. Alan Dunn is one of the best, if not THE best pitching coach in college baseball.

Both of you need to get the sand out of your private parts. That or just stop posting.
