I don't believe we can compete with the likes of aTm. We just don't have as many billionaire alumni like aTm has if any at all.

It would seem that we have to concentrate our efforts on 5-10 highly valued in state targets per year and match the offers they will be getting from aTm, UGA, Florida, Texas and bama. I believe if we simply match out of state offers 90% of the time these high value in state targets will stay home. Probably going to need 3-5 million per year in NIL recruiting money.

ETA: NIL billboards in Time Square won't cut it. Take that money and buy kids off.

That’s not what happened.

LSU wrongly thought NIL was actually about spokesmen and advertising, Texas school knew they could use it for bribing recruits. They’ll be doing a small bit for local business like dry cleaners and oil change and getting paid like it’s a national deal.

We just didn’t think of how to abuse it like the others.

This is just a reaction to getting out bid on Moss, Law, Anderson and Preston.

That's what has to stop.

Well, exactly. Give these guys 200K deals to hold a 5 Minuet Oil Change sign on the street for five minutes.

Jimbo explained the “legal” way they are getting around it. He said that they can’t offer recruits an NIL deal to sign but they can say these are all of the deals our current players have. Yes......basically semantics

I suspect that LSU put too much faith in the MatchPoint outfit. They were local had a new "app", backing of Walk-ons and some say Stingleys dad was also involved (MatchPoint was started by a dad at Jr's Highschool)..it obviously is not producing like they thought..even hannigrif quit LSU to work there ..then went back to LSU..that's my theory on part of the reason LSU is behind in the NIL department

I seems you can say or do anything you want. Nothing has been tested in court yet to establish boundaries. The rules are just being made up as we go.

Yeah, MatchPoint seems like an inefficiency. An unnecessary step in the process.

The bag man representing Joe's Pest Control just needs to travel with LSU recruiters and the LSU recruiter can take care of the LSU offer and the bag man can take care of Joe's Pest Control NIL offer.

The NCAA did put out rules of what you can and can’t do. It is a matter of who figures how to push the boundaries the most (or just blatantly cheat hoping not to get caught).

been told all night by a bunch of arrogant jerks on this board that the university has nothing to do with NIL

so we can't be behind...that's like impossible because there is no connection what so ever

If a Baton Rouge restaurant wants to sell more BBQ, they can sign deals with 5 Star DL's in Texas all day long...

Everyone wins....

no conflict of interest

No involvment of LSU

No problem with Name, Image, likeness ...zero problem

Sell the BBQ and Ford Trucks~

Kelly it’s not gonna fill his roster players just looking for the biggest deal he wants character guys that want to be at LSU and the Nil deal is just an extra bonus not just paying them just to be here For money

NO. LSU is considered a TOP 5 Program for NIL
This was five months ago. Things have changed. LSU got hammered by 'Bama in recruiting due to NIL deals. Preston, Matthews, etc. Those guys should've been Tigers but as usual, Alabama always figures out things before LSU does.

Players have always been paid.... Aggie has always had more $$$..... Yet somehow LSU has actually won CHAMPIONSHIPS.....are 9-2 vs Aggie since they joined.....and ED O just beat them after being fired for a month....
