If LSU loses its first sec tourney game, I wouldn't expect a home game in the NIT.

I had a dream last night that we won the SEC tournament.

Edit: but my dreams never come true....... :(

I guess it's worth it to have next year's #1 pick in the draft for one game.

ESPN no longer has a hand in selecting the NIT teams. There is a committee.

Though, LSU is a lock either way.

This team would have zero motivation to play in the NIT. It would probably add up to a first round, even more embarrassing, exit. I for one would love for them to not go but know that money speaks and they will go whether the players want to or not.

Not even sure we'd host an NIT game.

I know in the past the women's NCAA Tournament has prevented it, but I know we won't be hosting in that this year.

The bottom 10 teams in the NIT are usually automatic qualifiers themselves.

And the automatic qualifiers for the NIT are normally better than the automatic qualifiers for the NCAA's.... Winning your conference over an entire year is more impressive than a 5 day tournament in my books...

You have to be pretty damn horrible not to make the NIT if the NCAA Tournament Com. doesn't pick you.

Predictable response.

Looking at last year, the Charleston Southern, St. Francis, Bucknell, and North Carolina Centrals of the world aren't better than the Georgia State, Buffalo, Valpo, and UABs.

All auto-qualifiers aren't created equal.

Spoken like a true bridesmaid, just satisfied to be involved in anything, and prolong the agony for everybody else. Let's get the bride married (lose first game of sect), decline invite to NIT, flush it and move on...
