I hope so. I want an o-line that can make holes for the running game even when the d is stacked up to stop it.

We had that last season and I expect we will again this one.

Another season with the same group and I think our running game improves from last year. The more they play together the better they get.

I agree somewhat b/c of the lack of passing but with more of a threat passing we could really be dominant running the ball.

Barring injury, I think he should redshirt. Faulk & Hurst should be okay at the tackle spots with Shaw having gotten PT throughout his career. Lonergan is your Center, w/T-Bob at backup there. Blackwell & Josh D are your guards, with Williford & T-Bob backing up there.

I also heard outstanding things about Evan Washington last year, and he's got to be getting solid looks on the interior, as well. Our depth along the line tells me that we shouldn't play 'El unless we have to.

My $0.02 says he redshirts.

The only problem is you know he is going to be a starter next season. Why redshirt him and stop him from getting the experience he's going to need.

Why is this a given? If Faulk and Hurst are better than him this year, why won't they be better than him next year?

I think he means Collins will probably start in 2012 at one of the guard spots since we are losing Blackwell and Josh D then move to Hurst's RT spot in 2013!

There are reports that he has been working out in practice at the guard position, not tackle.

We lose both guards, Williford should grab one spot but I would much rather see Collins start over Branch. This is what you're forgetting about.

Branch should only see the field in an emergency. Even then I'd put T-Bob in first.

He's talking about starting at guard. I agree and think that's the only reason he doesn't redshirt this year, despite being the 5th guard, behind JD, Blackwell, TBob, and Williford (whenever he returns). He'd likely redshirt, but only one of those 4 are returning, and next year I'd venture to say the line is Faulk, Collins, PJ, Williford, and Hurst, L->R. Then he or Faulk will slide to RT in 2013 once hurst departs.

And don't forget, corey white, trai turner, jonah austin will all redshirt, with Porter back on the team. Pretty good depth I'd say, barring any retention issues

For the first time in a long time I feel comfortable about the OL and the future of it. After we lost all of our 2006 OL signing class, 2 of our 2007 OL signing class and 3 of our 2008 OL signing class due to attrition; it REALLY hurt our OL/depth there. We're just now catching up to being comfortable across the entire line starting this year with starters AND almost as equally as important, depth.
