Not that it necessarily matters because I think he blows up the league and goes pro next year, but I was just interested in what they were going to do

He will get a redshirt, but yeah, he will likely go pro anyway after next year so it won't matter.

Anybody have his stats from last year? Not doubting any of yall cause you probably know more than me but I didn't think he had the production to be a sure thing for the draft next year?

Based off of what you’ve seen of him so far, or do you KNOW he’s gone because he told you? The dude has 27 tackles, people. Though he did alright as a true freshman, he didn’t do enough, particularly in run support. Even his pass rushing skills only amounted to 4.5 sacks. He has a long way to go before anyone can seriously consider him ready for the NFL. The first thing he needs to do after he’s healthy is actually produce results on the field. Too many good prospects out there who are productive.

I think most people just assume that it doesn't matter if he is ready. If he has a decent season, he will probably go. Pass rushers are the second most important position in the NFL. If it is expected that he will be drafted, I wouldn't blame him for leaving considering he has already had a major injury while still playing for "free".

"redshirting" is not really a thing to be 'elected'. I don't even believe it is an official designation.

Every student athlete has 5 years to play 4 PARTICIPATION years of a sport(s). Currently, in football, a player can play any number of plays in up to 4 games and NOT have that year count against the participation year of eligibility.

So, he doesn't "redshirt" (that is a term for us fans to keep up with and understand...shorthand). He simply had one of his 5 years go by without having a participation year. So, he COULD participate 3 more years (will not). But, it has nothing at all to do with "deciding to redshirt, etc"

Chaisson will be drafted in the 2020 draft, after the 2019 college season is wrapped up.

False. I think you are stereotyping his size because he played the run very well last year. Better than Key imo. Also for the number of snaps he played he was very productive. He is an athletic freak that, barring injury, will be a first round pick next year.

He was freshman all SEC last year. He had a sack, TFL, and QB hurry in the 3/4 of a game he played against Miami.

He's going to be a very high NFL pick in 2020.
