Is Justin Jefferson a 2020 Draft Prospect?

I've seen many 2020 mock drafts and most list Delpit, Fulton, Chaisson, and Burrow as draft picks. Some have Lawrence and Cushenberry as well. I just don't understand how Jefferson doesn't at least get some draft consideration. I mean he is a 6'3 WR with great speed and hands and is 6th in the SEC in yards so far and is tied for 4th in TDs(While sharing the spotlight with two other top WRs). He also had over 800 yards last year as a sophomore. I am starting to feel like he is being badly overlooked.

Kinda strange, I agree. I suspect that if his year continues the way it started, he will be in much better shape.

That, and a big showing at the combine...

Or hell, maybe come back for another natty... (yeah, I said it)

He's going to be a DJ Chark type that goes kind of overlooked, gets picked up late, and then just shows out for whatever team landed his services. His game translates very well to the next level. Precise routes, gets open, sure-handed, and decent after-the-catch ability. He's not as athletic with the leaping grabs as a guy like Chase, but he checks just about every box for a solid #2 or #3 WR in the NFL.

If James Wright got drafted, I guarantee Jets will.

I don't get it, either. Last year, he made significant improvements, but there were times when he had the dropsies. But this year, he has eliminated that, and has made some really great adjustments on the ball, and along with Chase and Marshall, he has been very smooth in catching those back shoulder throws. His route running looks very crisp, to me, and he's also good after the catch.

The only thing he lacks is elite speed. But it's not as if he's slow. Just ask Texas. I don't know what these draft prospect "gurus" want to see from him. There has to be some built in bias from the fact that none of them saw this coming from him.

He's not likely to be a top round prospect but if he wants to go I bet someone takes him in the 3rd-5th round range

He is a lot more polished than Chark was at this time.

uhhh, they're kinda opposites as prospects in a way. Chark was a second rounder who went that high mainly due to speed/ athleticism (as opposed to numbers). Justin should have some nice stats compiled when he comes out, but he may not wow anyone with his athleticism. he could have a great combine though, and surprise people.

Draft projections mean little right now I got him as a 1-2nd rounder when it’s all said and done

I think the main reason is because he's a junior that really didn't hit many radars before this year. Assuming he keeps this pace, or close to it, he'll be considered a guy that leaves early as opposed to coming back and then you'll start to see him in the mocks.

I’ve heard he’s 100% gone pecan.

Jets has burst coming out of his stance, polished route running and solid hands. I can definitely see him going in the 2nd or 3rd round.

There’s a few reasons I see him going. If the offense keeps rolling like this, WR will be our new LB and DB that you can really only expect 3 years out of. They’ll put up monster numbers.

He's going to be a solid pro for a long time. Good size, good speed, GREAT route runner, good hands, and a smart player with a knack for getting open.

He's a perfect #2 WR in the NFL IMO.
