Y’all have no idea how shitty those coaches were

Some examples

-during a practice, Curley told a defensive lineman to nail Chad Loup to “make it a physical practice”. Keep in mind he is wearing a green jersey thinking he can’t be hit. Well the defensive lineman nails him, injured him for the game Saturday he starts in, and starts an all out brawl at practice a couple days before the game

-takes Pedros bandanna off his head and wipes his arse with it and tells him to put it back on

- offensive lineman coach gets canned dog food and makes his lineman eat it

It’s goes on and on. Dude was a true piece of shite

I just watched the highlights of that auburn game on YouTube and saw Jamie Howard throw to jack bech’s uncle . Kinda neat to think we may see Howard to bech again soon .

Ok, in the running...
When his boy wins the Heisman he won't be underappreciated any more!

Not to mention losing his wife way too soon and walker losing his mom
I guarantee you players can move on from the college sports life way easier than most fans ever will
When you compete in the arena like they do, you can go through life a lot tougher than you think

Those coaches got Jamie crucified in the Auburn game, after 2 pick sixes, you don’t keep throwing with the lead, run the dam ball Curly!

I may be wrong but I think he injured his shoulder playing for LSU, and pretty much ended a promising pro baseball career

Very cool.
Circumstances beyond my control dictated that I had to listen to the Arkansas game on the radio.
Much as I hate to say it, Chris Blair is a well below average play-by-play guy. Complete homer that I am, I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt but he rarely mentions the player's names! On a radio broadcast! Didn't mind Moreau and the sideline guy was nails.

Love the Brett Favre quote about Hallman when he first got to southern miss and asked about blitz pickups and hot reads Hallman replied “just make something happen”.

That tells you all you need to know about Hallman coaching QBs.

This was many years ago. My father in law was sitting at a bar, waiting for his table in New Orleans. Guy sitting next to him is drawing up football plays on a napkin. He jokes and asks the guy if hes drawing up plays for the Saints, who were playing the next day. Guy laughs and says he draws plays for the other team...his name is Monte Kiffin. They bs for a while and father in law asks him if he knows anything about new DC for LSU, Lou Tepper. Kiffin says "that guy doesn't know shite"

I think he’s well appreciated. I’ll always remember him as a good QB playing for a shite coach and I think most other people think that way as well.

No. It was Lynn Amedee in 94. Haffner was there the first years of Hallman.

The main thing I remember about Jamie (besides the infamous 3 pick-sixes in 4th Q, of course) is that I used to advocate for having our WRs wear bright red shoes, and tell Jamie to aim at the shoes----
and then the pass would hit em right in the numbers, because he invariably wildly overthrew everybody

No, Jamie got wrecked by Mansfield his senior year of high school in the semi’s and was never good in college after that

I can only imagine what Jamie Howard would have accomplished at LSU if he had a competent coaching staff.

.....hmmmmm......you are keen on details.

You didn't mention Chad losing his mind after the hit and ranting about how the Golden Boy (Jamie) was untouchable. Was a total dick move by Hallman. And, yes, it happened in the stadium on a Thursday before a game.

Also, the bandana incident was flavored with Hallman pontificating about not being an individual and team blah blah. Pedro was about to kick his arse.....everyone was hoping.

They didn't eat the dog food. But it sure did make them love Buddy King......they sent him a 50# bag of dog food to him at Arky after he left and LSU won.
