I can buy a parking pass for the game in garage 2 of the dome for $50 from TAF. I'm not so much concerned about the cost, but getting to the garage and to the game fast because I may be cutting it a little close (leaving BR around 4pm on Monday). It's been a long time since I've been to the dome so I'm not sure how things go on game days when traffic is crazy.

Personally, I absolutely hate parking in the dome.

Dome garage will be full if you are not leaving BR until 4, if you want to park in Dome I would probably buy the advance pass.
There is enough parking off site as well that might not be that high with a doable walk.

Add to the President showing up I would spend that $50.

Just be prepared to not leave postgame for awhile. It takes a long while to get out.

The dome parking spots are reserved...its impossible for your spot to be not available

I would do it there were lots charging $40-$50 for the sugar bowl last week when it was $25 at the dome

Not worth it at all. Just walk or uber from wherever you are staying

Keep in mind that they search each vehicle coming in the garage with dogs...add the President to this and the traffic might back up to St. James Parish. Personally, I would skip the garage due to your lack of time...just my 2 cents.

Does the garage open early on gameday or only after a certain time?

I never park in the dome, but I bought this exact offer. The person I am going with has a bad knee and cannot walk far. I expect a s-show downtown. I would get it because it is a stringent pass for this game, meaning that the lot may not be full. It is not open to the general public, and I am sure there will be equipment etc set up for handling the game. The lot is notorious for being a long time to get out, but with a large portion of the crowd staying in hotels, and a large portion of the crowd without tickets will be parking downtown, it will be easier to get out of the dome.

I had to put detailed information in about my car when I bought the pass. Secret service is on to me.
