Absolutely go regardless of tickets. Austin is a good time when Texas isn't playing let alone a game weekend when half of Louisiana is in town.

Also, it's way too early to determine not going to the game based on ticket prices... these early season games are always extremely pricey throughout the summer and drop closer to the game. May not drop a ton bc both teams are unlikely to lose before hand but they'll drop. Just gotta be patient.

My son and I went for the baseball series this year and we are seriously considering going for the football game. The drive isn't bad and I have a buddy who'll basically give us his house for the weekend, about 3 miles from the stadium.

We actually found the UT campus underwhelming, although we did enjoy the LBJ library. Austin, though, is always a good time and San Antonio is right down the road.

I took a road trip to Tuscaloosa one year with a bunch of friends, and partied the Friday night before, then woke up and tailgated all day, watched the game at the tailgate, and partied afterwards after we won. It was a blast, and totally worth going. I imagine Austin would be even better.

Not sure why this is getting so many downvotes. You can go hangout in Austin any ole time. Go to the game

the bar had officially been taken over by tiger fans

Kinda like they took over the French Quarter in 2011? I was pissed at those fricking bars selling out to Bama fans and playing Sweet Home Alabama.

I would imagine a lot will end up doing that because the LSU ticket limit is so small

Well, I’d go to Austin for a weekend just about any time, so sure.

Question is: Why not go to the game though? There will be tons of tickets available and the market will drop significantly when they release the thousands that are still available.

Be careful. Watch out for homeless people downtown. Certain parts of the city looks like a third world country.

It’s not stupid at all. You will have more fun than everybody else staying at home. Who knows you might even luck up and get a pair of tickets at face value you never know

No, we were in College Station last year and ended up watching the game at f**cking BWW...closed out at the end of regulation.

How are they gonna run all those commercials about rigging the games to keep them going and then shut down at the end of regulation in the city where the game is?

Use to live in Austin. Go to Shoal Creek Saloon just off 6th Street. It’s the LSU and Saints hangout. Get there early

I think you’ll have more fun overall in the city vs in the stadium tbh

No, Shoal Creek is the LSU/Saints bar in Austin

Shoal creek is more saints then LSU. Rustic tap is a great time and an LSU bar

Not anymore. Place isn’t the LSU spot at all anymore. All you’ll find there is 19 dollar shrimp Poboys
