It has to say something of the long term program, recruiting base, etc. that even under two coaches most would consider as flawed, they managed to each produce a NC.

And Les had a shot to win a second one. That should tell you something right there. I tell people all the time that we have underperformed the past 15 years and they all laugh and think I’m being ridiculous.

Over the last 20 years there have been plenty of season we have under performed. Do I think we would have had more Titles? maybe, SEC titles for sure, National Titles not sure. Its soo hard to win the National Championship. Think about Bama. They have the best coaches and roster EVERY YEAR by far, but they have 6 when it could or should be 8-9. Ohio St only has 2 in 20 years. LSU is fortunate with great success.

If this post would have been made a week ago, you would have been slammed.

I know because I’ve made several posts like this and pumpers always cry

It truly is amazing we’ve had two coaches the caliber of Les and Orgeron win championships

Agreed. I guess one big problem for us is the best college football coach ever coaches in the same division as us. Hard to beat that on a consistent basis, let alone just one time. Although I think with anyone more competent than Miles or O, we have at least another title or two during this 20 year span.

"Our last coach liked to punch himself in the jaw, the one before him ate grass. Both won national championships."

An LSU football program with competent leadership would be akin to a gorilla with a chainsaw for a penis
