re: Is everyone ready to give up on JJ?

I for one am almost to that point on JJ, but not quite yet. I have been very disappointed in what I perceive to be his lack of progress game one through 12. He has started/played 13 games now. No longer a rookie.

Dude, I hope that they don't have random (or for cause for that matter) drug testing where you work. This year's team might have gone undefeated with MF at QB.
And I am tired of the "he's 19" excuse. I don't see that he will ever be a championship caliber QB, unless we simplify the offense, and do a better job of playing to his skill set (rollout instead of pocket passing). I really hope I am wrong, because I do not think Miles will make the change if he doesn't progress.

Does it matter that he is a pro-style QB that ran the wide open spread offense is high school? That means he was in the shotgun most of the time and he threw a lot of quick passes, here's the kicker, FROM THE POCKET. His lack of progression has more to do with the coaches fricking up the entire offense more than people even realize.

Flynn would put up FAR worse numbers than JJ. Hell, he already put up worse numbers with a solid running game and a great OL.

Please, 90% of the morons on this board couldn't even get the ugly chick at the bar to rub their leg after 2 a.m. when they were 19 much less orchestrate one of the most complex offenses in college football.

By saying this you admit the pocket is collapsing right after the snap.
You still have to have some blocking. DEs were all over him.

That's a lot of shite considering you also had the time to become a psychologic engineer (NASA). ORRRRRRRRRRRR, you're full of shite. I'll go with the latter.

think CG is going to be a great QB in the future but will he run the same type of offense as JJ??
JJ will start for the rest of his career at LSU, and CG might not ever get to start... we may have a recruit coming in who is better then him... and CG is 4th string for a reason... because face it guys CG is not even better then J Lee.....
everyone should have enjoyed j Russell while he lasted... we wont have another qb like russel, mauck, davey, or flynn for a while...
Posted on 12/16/09 at 10:15 am to RobbBobb
it's too bad JJ has not really had a chance to develop, due 100% from lack of coaching, and /or the lack thereof and a lack of direction. he may not have the time to ever be a top flight SEC qb, and apparently next years offensive line won't have the experience to baby him along. if crowton persists in running the shitty option w/JJ, it will say a lot. obviously the atheltes have to fit certain plan to see the field , and there will be no deviation from the offense we run. period. regardless of ability and skill that might fit another system. i think we should get used to 9-3 seasons, or even less. the handwriting is on the wall

how did you start but a guy in front of you? That makes no since. Also doean't mean you know shite about being a qb. Hell j lee started too

Did you miss Flynn destroying the 9th ranked U his Soph yr?. MVP of the Bowl game? His first start ever????

Gameball goes to... LSU quarterback Matt Flynn. Flynn was unflappable for the Tigers, completing 13-of-22 passes for 197 yards and 2 TDs against 0 INTs (164.31). Also carried the ball 5 times for 39 yards = 7.8 yds/carry.
Did I mention it was against the 9th ranked team in the nation?
And before you invent any JJ stats. Chick bowl:
quote:
Jefferson was 16-of-25 for 142 yards and a touchdown (124.91). He added nine carries for 33 yards = 3.67 yds/carry.

Did you purposely forget to mention that we shredded Miami's defense for almost 300 yds on the ground? We barely had half of that against Ga. Tech. Yes, it makes a huge difference.

Damn is right! Easy to get a 62% completion percentage when you're thowing 3 - 4 yard passes. Not that impressive.
Also, where does it show in those stats about the number of unnecessary sacks taken? (not talking about the ones where either had no chance of throwing because of piss poor blocking. Talking about the ones where the QB thinks he is still in the green no-contact jersey and has 5 minutes to throw the ball)
