Perhaps we could just skip all that you posted and recruit a guy like that from the start?
Pretty sure that's what he meant.
Thanks for the history lesson though.

Danny Etling may be better than Harris but that doesn't mean he will be the QB next year. With CLM it doesn't matter if one is better than the other, once he gets one player in his head that seems to be who he sticks with no matter what talent is sitting on the side line.

Hopefully BH can make the progress from 1st year to 2nd year in the same manner as Mett.....Mett was tremendously better in the 2nd year

You mean the kid who got benched on a horrible Purdue team? No he's not.
And his connection to LSU is Cam Cameron. From the same place where Cam played high school ball. Wouldn't be surprised if he went D2 or something.

I know for a fact he is the best QB on the roster.

Are you sure because Jennings got zero snaps this year.
I don't have a clue what this off season will bring. I have a feeling that a good bit of players will be transferring off this team. We shall see how loyal are Miles's players.

Why can't Miles recruit and develop a quarterback that can play at least passably in the SEC?
Miles has never developed a QB. He was an offensive lineman who became a o-line/te coach to OC to head coach. He is not qualified to develop a QB. He needs to get a guy that can develop a COLLEGE QB. Cam did a great job with some pros but coaching up 25 or older professionals is completely different than coaching an 18-22 year old coming out of high school that had everything handed to them and got their back's patted. I wouldn't mind if Les said he would be OC and just hired someone to be the QB coach and that is all they do.

I tried to his watch highlights from 2013, but the highlights were always slanted toward the opponent so he was usually on his arse. He got sacked 31 times in 2013. Other than that, has a pretty good, natural pocket presence and throwing motion. I hope he gets a chance.

In 13 games over 2-year span, 16 TDs and 12 INTs. Not great, but not exactly a "ton" of INTs, either. The guy was running for his life the whole time. In 2013, in 8 games he got sacked 31 times.

quote:Christ. In 2013, he got sacked 31 times over 8 games. That's 3.9 sacks a game! The dude who got benched had 8 sacks over 5 games, which is 1.6 sacks/game. And people say Harris has bad pocket presence. Jesus!

And in 2014, he was sacked 11 times in 5 games. His replacement got sacked 12 times over 8 games!

When sifting through these numbers, you need to also realize the parts around him at LSU will be much better. How good would guys like AJ McCarron/Mettenburger/Coker if you just threw them in with a shitty supporting cast? Football is a team game and it's silly to think that you can critique a quarterback just by looking at his performance and judging his effectiveness.
