That's awesome.

If he would have had a winning record he would have been the most badass dude ever.

His first season, a fight broke out between some football players and some students at Fred's. When the media approached him, his response was basically, that it was an LSU football team matter and would be handled privately.. The Advocate and BR went nuts.. "What do you mean??? "Baton Rouge IS LSU!!!!" Hallman's relationship with Baton Rouge was bad from then on.

Ouch!! - The 1992 season included being shut out 32–0 by Ole Miss on Halloween, and beaten 30–6 at Arkansas in the season finale, which was the first meeting between the Tigers and the Razorbacks upon Arkansas joining the SEC. The Tigers finished 2–9, still the worst in school history.

Remain humble my friends

I looked him up along with some other coaches and the last thing that I could find was that he was forced to resign from a high school in Alabama because he had a losing record.

In my best "String music/Joe Dean" voice: "Gil Brandt told me to hire Curly Hallman and never look back"

He's probably a pretty nice guy.

He was DB coach at Alabama when I was in grad school there. He frequented the same bar I did. (during the season-which I found odd.) I talked to him once. He seemed like a nice enough guy. He said it was impossible to win at LSU because the schedule was "so hard." Pretty crappy attitude for any coach in any sport. The guy was obviously in way over his head.

I'll never forget the Alabama-LSU game in 1993 when Bama had won 30 something straight and Bama completely shite the bed at home and somehow allowed LSU to win. I went up for the game, was in the Bama student section with a friend all happy and drunk and shite until one of his friends turned around and said "Congrats. That just got you another year of Curley." fricker was right.

Did they go to LSU? I had a girl named Hallman in a biz law class in '94.
