Will see. It's literally a whole new ballgame. LSu can probably win 75% of their games without ever throwing a pass, but I'm pretty sure we will see some balance. I doubt with Miles as HC you will see an unbalanced offense tilted toward the passing game.

THIS! Have we EVER been even close to a pass heavy team recently under Miles? No...Cam Cameron would be a great hire and we would still run the ball 25+ times per game.

Don't bother, Choctaw is the tiger20 of LSU football, no matter the situation, he will be on that side of the argument

Exactly, so just because the NFL has turned into more of pass happy league and Cameron had a pass tilted offense doesn't mean he will run it like that here. Plus Miles wouldn't ever allow it.

We need help running the ball too...granted, not as much as we need help with passing. Getting some more effective teachers in to teach blocking execution and consistency is important, run or pass. I can't see anything but positives should he be hired (even recruiting...as Stud was not a 'home run' recruiter, although not incompetent).

Look at the Ravens losses before he was fired and compare them to RR's carries.

Having not watched a lot of Ravens games this year I decided to look up Ray Rice's game log.

Ray Rice had the following carry totals in losses:

16
9
12
20.

Now, that 9 came against The Texans when they fell behind 29-3 at half time and ended up losing 43-13. Not really, a game conducive to the running attack.

Now, the 12 carry game is indefensible. He was averaging 6.5 ypc but only ran the ball 12 times in a 3 point loss. And while 16, and 20, carries may be a tad low for Ray Rice they aren't horribly low (and you have to factor in Bernard Pierce carries as well).

Meh, we should just give stud another chance. He promises hell do better.

If we're good enough to win the other three, how did we choke away the fourth one? That's inexcusable.

And while I was frustrated by Rice's ever-shrinking role, part of that was Rice's fumble issues. And the fact he's better getting the ball off screen passes than on handoffs, and we don't want to base our offense on screen passes.

Bernard Pierce looked like the more dynamic running option to me in the playoffs, especially when you factor in Rice's two fumbles against Denver, so maybe CamCam was onto something. If you're not excited about this hire if it actually goes through, you're crazy. Cam has proven success in the NFL and has enough prestige and respect as a coach to not get steam tolled by Miles. I hope this goes through and I think this hire will make an immediate impact and hopefully we'll not only be functioning, but thriving on offense in a year or two. The thought of CamCam coaching Rivers after doing a lot for his brother would be awesome!

Tomlinson won the MVP with Cameron as the OC in San Diego, so clearly he doesn't always abandon the run. Baltimore had Bernard Pierce this year to take some of the load off of Ray Rice.

Don't forget about Ronnie brown in Miami too. Proven positional improver for both QBs and RBs.

He avg 1 attempt/game more after Cam's firing, which was inflated with a 30 attempt 2OT game vs Denver.

Or, for the love of god, someone with some common sense and ingenuity where the personnel package and formation don't narrow the play we're about to run between 1 and 3 plays. Our offense is so laughable. I'm sure Cam would never put a similar product on the field and that's why I'm really hoping that this rumor comes to fruition.

Not much more than that and people were bashing GG thinking that the info was from td and that he's a hack. There was mention too that a press conference is scheduled for Monday, which would make sense, but I'm clueless if that's in fact true.

when we lose, the program's in shambles. when we run the ball, we should've passed. when we pass the ball, we should've run. when we win, we don't win by a large enough margin. when les calls a good game, he's lucky and wins only because of the players' talent.

sometimes?

Saban would have won all 4.
