I think you mean the first 3 games. But 8-17 on 3-point shots the first 3 games isn't exactly "raining in threes". Especially considering the opposition. But I get your point. He did have a 3 game stretch where he wasn't the god awefull worst shooter in all of college b-ball.

His shot selection is the biggest problem, imo.

I think Sampson is even less ready than tone. Hopefully we can take care of the next two games and get Sampson and tone some playing time at the end of the game.

Blakeney stays on the floor because his defense is better than those on the bench and he can rebound pretty well for a guard. If his scoring comes along, it will be huge.

Disagree with him being the key to making the tournament. This team usually wins or loses depending on what Quarterman does as crazy as that is.

Yea it's time to give Brandon Sampson some of those minutes.

Sampson is so lost on the defensive end. Every game he comes in and loses his man. Yesterday he came in and he was the only guy that didn't realize we were in a zone.

Nah, there were two that were better than the third but I'll take 47% from three for the next three games from him right now.

Better question is, when will JJ hold guys accountable for taken bad shots and turning the ball over.

That's been my concern from CJJ from jump, accountability.

He did say after the game when Blanton was trying to give him the bad luck on the outside shooting out when interviewing him, that it was because the wrong folks were taking the wrong shots at the wrong time.

I've heard that before....many times in the past 3+ years. One difference this time was Johnny said, "and that starts from the top".

Never heard him qualify it that way before. You can't change it until you admit the real problem.

Now will this result in real change, for more than one or two games? Don't know, but IMHO that is the ultimate issue in our inconsistency. I commend him for taking that responsibility, now let's see how that plays out.

No, I don't think so. He's not a good shooter. Good shooters do not go through such a prolonged drought.

I agree with this. He is the weakest link right now, we really need a good shot on the outside with Hornsby.

He's just an average shooter always has been. He's been on teams that allowed him to shoot 18-25 times a game to get his points. He's not a great shooter and prob never will be.

no, he was 2-5 in the first game then something like 2 out of 4, then 4 for 8. All that was in the first 3 games of the season. It all added up to 8 for 17. Was to little a sample to really add up to anything but since then has been awefull. So maybe it's a slump. I don't think it's a slump, been to many games to be a slump.

Time for Sampson to step it up... Blake is just not a good shooter right now. Does hustle and rebound though.

Sampson is still flummoxed when it comes to playing defense

Tone is at least giving some effort there.

Perhaps he just needs a slump buster. Any fat white chicks posting here willing to take one for the team?

That's true. But Antonio is the leader in the clubhouse right now.

Give him time to develop more. He'll shake off the rust and get there. Quartermaine needed his freshman year to get his feet wet before turning into the player he was last season and this season.
